Honestly, six stars. I must have tried 15 different pomades before I found Mr. Groomed and once I found it, I never looked back. I have very thin hairs so I needed a product that was able to give me decent hold while still giving a matte look. I don't like having shiny, oily-looking hair and that is what most pomades did for me, even when they claimed not to. I apply Mr. Groomed right after towel-drying my hair and then run a comb through it once it dries fully. Voila. Matte + all-day hold. Really good stuff. Edit: 6 years later and I still use it. As for concerns about the pump, yes it gets stuck. All you have to do is push it up from the bottom when it sticks and it works just fine.

I got two separate pump canister orders of this, and neither one worked. Not a good product.

Not quite as thick as you would expect with a promade, but it holds well and does not flake much.

I love this product! I travel for a living, it easy going through TSA almost every week. The product is simple but works as intended without being rough on my already thinning hair. I was looking for something with a strong hold that will want as rough or as abusive as other gel products. Combs are much cleaner with less product and no hair. It has a pleasant fragrance to it as well. I would recommend this if you care about keeping healthy hair!

The engineer needs to come up with a better pump or go back to school

I'm always excited to try new hair product to see if it works as promised. I had problems with the dispenser when I got it and realized I just needed to push the bottom up to get it working. This caused a lot of product to come out at once. It got stuck again later on, but was solvable with another push and excess product coming out. As for the cream, it smells decent after it dries, keeps my hair in place throughout the day without making my hair stiff, and I like that it washes off my hands easily after application.

it looks and smells like Elmers glue.

Just the right amount of hold without being overly shiny. My scalp doesn't itch from this once or dries and it doesn't leave any residue. I got this because there isn't any alcohol in it, the smell is great but subtle and it's held throughout the whole day even at work where Ioce around a lot.
