TV Ears 5.0 Extra Headset- Not Compatible with Professional, Digital & Original Plus System

Headset works as expected, but this is the second replacement for the original headset. The arms are very fragile and they break easily if one is careless about removing or replacing it in the charger or about stretching the arms to fit the earbuds into the ear. Handle the headset only by the base if at all possible. Otherwise, replacements can get expensive.

For being supposedly "advanced" and/or "improved", it's NOWHERE NEAR AS COMPFORTABLE--OR STURDY as the 2.0 earlier model which someone gave me that I still use in another room and has lasted for two years. On the 5.0, both headsets broke on the original dual unit w/headsets in less than 6 months, so we were extra careful when using this replacement headset and now one of the sidearms on it broke on about a month ago. Sigh. >:( When they change a device it should be for the better, not for the worse. Bring back the 2.0 with its comfort and longevity.

This is a great product for anyone with hearing loss. Not only does the device increase volume, it helps with clarity. The only downfall is that the arms break more easily than they used to.

I can't say I hate it, the sound quality is great. However, the new model has a serious problem with the arms. I have bought two over the past six months and the arms broke on both pair??? The very first pair we had, I think were 2.3, never broke. We wanted a better sound quality so updated to the new 5.0 and did not expect the fragile nature with the new model. We were super careful with the second pair of 5.0 and they still snapped so easy. The second pair broke within a week. Really need a pair for my partially deaf husband.

They work wonderfully. But! They are extremely fragile. When putting them on or taking them off, they are prone to snap in half. Despite his best efforts to be careful, my husband has broken 3 of them so far. At this price it is expensive.

I need to replace my 5.0 TV Headset because I live in an apartment and without them I cannot use my TV late at night. This is the second headset I’ve had to buy because when spreading them open to get them on I have broken them, now twice. I taped them up and am using them but this is not the answer. I need to replace the headset to enjoy my TV viewing. However, I do want to say that the sound is wonderful! I am 87 years old and was told it is OK, to put my TV ears on while I am wearing my hearing aids since without them in I cannot hear my phone ring. When I need to take my hearing aids out late at night to charge them, I can actually hear the TV better than during the day when I feel free to turn the volume up during the daytime and listen with only my hearing aids on. Old movies are my main entertainment so I am eager to have them whole again.

8/6/2016 UPDATED REVIEW!!!! I took these ears from a 1 star to a 5. I have determined that the pair I bought from Amazon supplier GTR GROUP was either used or defective when I purchased them. The first pair I bought direct from TVEARS.COM and they lasted several years. The 2nd pair bought from GTR GROUP broke with approx 4 months usage. Therefore, I believe the product is good, the supplier may be the issue.ORIGINAL REVIEW: These work great. My husband can watch TV and I can read in same room with no sound disturbance. My husband says they are comfortable to wear. Highly recommend.

We are not pleased with the quality of this product. When the original headset broke, we ordered this set. They came and didn't work at all. Called the company and had to re-order because they wouldn't refund the money until they actually received the defective set. Second set finally came and they don't work consistently either. They work about third day. We have a couple hundred dollars invested in this item, and still can't use it. Save your money.
