This does a great job of removing stubborn toilet stain build up and is very easy to use. I have tried several different approaches that failed. I deviated from the direction a bit and worked great. I soaked down the inner bowl before work and let it sit all day. After work I gave it another good dose and I waited a few mins then gave it a quick scrub. Its like new again. Every single stain gone.

If you have a house full of boys like I do, this is the holy grail. I once used it to clean a toilet in my son’s dorm that was so filthy I honestly thought they were going to have to burn the place down. Somehow, this cleaner handled it. It works incredibly fast and cuts through hard water stains, mineral buildup, and stubborn rings in seconds. Toilets look brand new afterward, going from stained and dingy to shiny white. You can actually see the results immediately. Another plus is that it is cheaper on Amazon than in stores. The smell does not bother me at all and it does not choke me out like some other strong cleaners do. If you are dealing with seriously gross toilets, this is absolutely worth buying.

Zep makes awesome products, this is just another one of them. I seriously can't believe how good this stuff works, have some tough rings that I was thinking about using a pumice stone on....until I used this cleaner. Literally gone in 10 minutes after applying. No need to even scrub, this stuff is fantastic!

I usually don't leave reviews but this product is amazing. I had tried everything to get rid of the hard water stains on my toilet bowl and nothing worked. I decided to try this and it got rid of ALL of the stains. This is a miracle cleaner and I would recommend it to everyone!!!!! ZEP has the best products that I will always use!!!!

TL;DR: Great bowl coverage and easy application, but not strong enough for extremely heavy hard‑water buildup. Works better as a maintenance cleaner than a heavy‑stain remover. I bought Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner to tackle severe hard‑water staining in a toilet that hasn’t responded to regular cleaners. Our water tests at 811 PPM TDS, so the mineral load is unusually high and buildup forms quickly. The product has a strong chemical odor, so I used a respirator while applying it. The gel consistency is excellent—it clings to the bowl, stays where you put it, and easily reaches under the rim. Following advice from other reviewers, I let each application sit for 30 minutes instead of the 5‑minute minimum. I repeated this process three times. Despite the extended dwell time and multiple rounds, I didn’t see any noticeable improvement in the staining. At that point, I switched to a pumice stone, which removed the buildup with some scrubbing. I had hoped this cleaner would eliminate the need for mechanical cleaning, but with mineral levels this high, it simply wasn’t enough on its own. To be fair, the stains were heavy, and I don’t think the product is entirely at fault. I’ll still use the rest of the bottle for maintenance now that the worst of the buildup is gone. For moderate hard‑water staining, this cleaner may work well. For very heavy staining or extremely high‑TDS water like mine, expect to pair it with mechanical cleaning for best results.

Had some nasty stains under the rim. Because this is a gel, it stuck to the underside. I waited the allotted time and scrubbed it. Stains are gone. It has a pleasant smell too. Will definitely buy again!

I’ve been searching forever for a cleaner that actually removes uric acid buildup under the toilet seat, and I finally found the one that works. I followed the instructions—sprayed it on and waited about five minutes. To make it even more effective, I wrapped long strips of regular toilet paper around the rim so the cleaner could cling and soak in without wasting product. The results blew me away. I expected to do a lot of heavy scrubbing, but almost everything dissolved on its own. Only a tiny bit of residue was left, and a couple of light scrubs took care of it—start to finish was under 10 minutes. I even checked with a camera under the rim, and honestly, it looks like I just bought a brand-new toilet. If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Absolutely fantastic product. I’ll definitely keep buying it.

It works great, but buy elsewhere - Canadian tire or Home Depot and pay 75 percent less

While the product itself works very well on removing the stains in my toilet bowl, the product which I received was a single one gallon container from Home Depot. Had I ordered directly Home Depot, I would have saved over nine dollars. The container leaked while in transit and I had to clean up the resulting mess.

Pleased with the results. Money well spent.
