Aluminum Alloy Switch Opener with Keycap Puller for Cherry MX Switches – Black

Really, the title is everything. If you're lubing switches, replacing springs, or whatever on an MX switch, you want this. It works, and it works well. I have another MX switch opener that came with a lubing kit I bought, and I've noticed that this one works better on some switches (like my KiiBooms), and the other one works better on other brands (like Akko).Quality is nice, it does the job, and price is decent. Only thing I'd say is that if you're opening the (very annoying to open) Kailh style switches with the two wide tabs instead of the 4 small tabs, make sure you buy that kind of opener, cause this one doesn't work with those switches.

the switch puller is garbage. straight up. the keycap puller is a keycap puller, not much to say there. the actual switch extractor is the most painful and annoying tool i've used in a very long time. it bends diagonally when you try to apply pressure and by the time i was done pulling switches from a 60% keyboard, my fingers were RAW, parts of my fingers had blood blisters, and the tool was unusable. it's worth noting that the switch puller became nearly useless after pulling half my switches. once it hit a certain point every switch pulled was a feat of tolerance to pain (which is saying a LOT) and love for building mechanical keyboards. it wasn't for the faint of heart.the opener is fantastic. just simple and made of aluminum. by every metric it's a pleasure to use and it should last you quite a while if not forever.

Doesn’t fit some switches but it’s okay it’ll open it enough where you can just lightly pull it and it’ll be fine, had no issues besides that ,

The included switch/keycap puller works great and is better than any individual switch or keycap puller I have. the switch opener also works pretty well so no complaints from me there. This opener will work for any of the switch housings with the four prongs, so like gaterons, cherry, jwk, etc. This will not work for the kailh style with the big wide latch.

Just make sure it fits your switch

Works great, pulled a couple hundred switches apart with it so far with no issues. Easy to use, sturdy, good price, and the included switch/keycap puller works great too!

The switch opener is a very sturdy, small tool that does its job wonderfully. However, the keycap & switch remover were both too tight, I had to constantly stretch it before it does its work. I would recommend staying away from that product.

Works as it should and is half the price of the ones listed on custom keyboard sites. Would highly recommend. Lubed 300 switches since purchasing this and it made the process so much easier.
