Great little knives!!!!
Old Timers has been making knifes for years and I remember the popularity in my growing years within my ranching community. Now as an adult and a city dweller, I decided to get me two of these little guys for my everyday use, and am very happy with my purchase!! I do not get free stuff for my reviews, but I need to give credit where credit is deserved. Old Timer is well made, small, sharp edge, durable, and easy to place in any pocket big or small. I recommend these knifes to anyone and is worth every cent! Great job Old Timer! Keep making good quality knives!

Great knife
I purchased this knife and a Buck knife the same size and number of blades. I liked the Buck knife better because it was a little lighter and not as thick. I always carry a pocket knife and use them daily. The heaviest duty I do with them is cutting stretch wrap off of pallets with merchandise on them. After about two months both of the Buck knife blades started giving me trouble closing because they had become slightly bent. This gradually got worse so I started using the Schrade. Its been eleven months and I've had no problems with the knife.two months ago I lost the Schrade and had to start using the Buck again. After nine days one of the blades bent to where it wouldn't even close. I ordered two more Schrade knives just in case I lost one. It's a solid, well built knife. THE BUCK IS NOT A BAD KNIFE. The blades are thinner. It was not meant to be used the way I used it. The spring is the Schrade is stronger so it takes stronger fingers to open. I won't say the Schrade is a better knife than the Buck but I will say that it is a better knife for my purposes.

Perfect
Wanted a small pocket knife - this fits the bill perfectly. Just the right size for your pocket - good craftsmanship - easy to pull blade out when needed. Glad I made this purchase.

Perfect size for daily use.
I've had this a while now and it's in my pocket every day with my keys, money clip, etc. It has gotten regular use and has held up well; better than the old one it replaced. It is large enough for most cutting needs, yet small enough to not be "threatening". A perfect "gentleman's" pocket knife.

My go-to pocket knife.
I have had many of these Old Timer pocket knives over the last half century. My grandfather gave me my first one. I have always had one in my pocket, and use it constantly. You won't find a better pocket knife.

Looks like a decent enough simple pocket knife
For some reason this knife appears in my Amazon purchases and they keep wanting me to review it, only I never saw it, as in I never ordered it, doubt I ever would as it doesn't feature any particular preferred feature I would want to have in a personal pocket knife, and isn't exactly my style anyway, a bit too rustic and old-timey styled and all. I can't say I ever ordered it as a gift either, and seriously doubt I would, as for that I would probably go with a Victorinox mini pocket knife, or for outdooring, something with a saw blade and such. I hope nobody managed to use my Amazon account to order themselves a nice pocket knife. But if you just want a good blade or two in a pocket knife and like the styling, it looks like a well-made pocket knife to me. And it's stainless steel, which would be my preference for a pocket knife, as maybe carbon steel can have and hold a sharper edge, BUT seriously in a pocket and not in a nice dry kitchen drawer or kept on a knife rack you would probably end up having a serious rust problem with a carbon steel pocket knife, so I would pretty much 100% say that stainless steel is the way to go for a pocket knife. Which this is. I know pocket knifes fairly well, and just for what I can see here it looks like a pretty good quality one. Maybe there is some advantage to paying more for Buck Knife, but if there is one I don't know what that is. If I was looking for this type of style I would save my money and just go for this one. Looks every bit as good as a Buck Knife to me!

Nice pocket nice
Husband uses these knives all the time . His only issues are loosing them. But he always orders another one. He goes no where without one in his pocket. It has even survived being washed In the Washing machine multiple times.

Made in China NOT in USA as listed in the description
I bought this knife because I had lost my similar "Old Timer," which I had loved - made it through the washing machine, umpteen uses, carrying around for years, etc. (Think TIMEX) And secondly, it was stated to be "Made in USA" versus other, similar knives that are made offshore in the lands of cheap labor. So I really enjoyed the fact that I was buying a domestically made product. Unfortunately, it is not made in the USA. It says right on the box that it is made in China. Now, nowhere on the item itself does it STATE China / made in China, or anthing other than Old Timer. So buyer beware.... I don't know if the older US made Old Timers stated USA on the blade, but I will know better at a flea market that the absence of China on the blade does not mean that it is made in the USA. Anyway, back to the product. The knife feels fine, looks fine, opens and closes fine, was nicely packaged, and may well be a fine pocket knife. As such, I'm giving it 3 stars because it's OK, and for the hope that it works out, and becomes a nice back-pocket knife. Perhaps the sourcing folks at Taylor / Schrade specified proper steel quality and found a relaible factory to source their product. (Stop laughing, it could happen!) But it is not made in the US, so the product description is false. My father in law, for example, will never purchase this knife. And one could say that liars' products deserve no more that 1 Star! But it seems to be an OK knife, and OK is three stars. We'll see how the blade edge retention stands up to normal usage.
