Max Magician and the Legend of the Rings

If you dont believe magic is real listen to this...While at my grandparents house in Maryland, I was bored and digging through decades worth of old movies, vhs and DVDs hoping to find something entertaining to watch. After searching for what seemed to be forever I found a very dusty and unopened (still in plastic wrap) dvd of “Max Magician and the legend of the rings.”The cover was clearly that of an older movie but was some what intriguing and made it seem like a possibly good flick, and the reviews on the back said “Like lord of the rings and Harry Potter but better” and they were not lying. I broke the seal and unknowingly unleashed the magic that this movie possesses.I almost immediately started laughing, which got the attention of my entire family whom joined me in an uproar of laughter as we all started to enjoy this film.[A quick brief of the movie... Porky Pig got rabies and chases after these men who throw a scroll through a portal. The portal lands in front of local pedophile Mr. Tim who learns that these people are in trouble. Naturally Mr.Tim finds a kid who voluntarily wears capes and isn’t bad at magic tricks named Max. Max’s parents suck and don’t like that he does magic, even though Max literally makes a glass levitate as he pours milk into it his dad gives no shits and is impressed 0%... Anyway max goes and gets trained by Fyoon. Who’s Fyoon you ask? Apparently his backstory isn’t important so you dont have to know that. Max has to defeat an evil Lord Dagda who straight up punches a woman in the head because he’s angry how ugly the woman in his world are.. Max learns spells, makes friends, learns how to fight by beating up a clearly autistic Tom Tit Tot and defeats Dagda... about 60 seconds of screen time explain the rings in the title]The audio match up is abysmal, the props are perfect in the worst ways... and if one character is talking you better believe the camera will be on them the entire time until their dialogue is finished.If at all possible watch the DVD version because amazon hired some poor bastard to clean up this mess the best they could and took some of the humor out of it by doing things like matching up the audio, adding more cuts and just polishing a turd the best they could. I’d love to speak to whomever from the Amazon staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafffffff worked on this and just laugh about the movie with you.Overall I’ve seen this movie over 30 times and will hopefully watch it hundreds more and I promise you, you’ll watch it and try to explain to others how bad and funny it is. But the only true way to understand is to watch.I’ll end with this. There’s a fish man character in one of the scenes. The actor spend 6 hours in makeup to have 10 seconds of screen time and no lines. That’s how they treat their actors

The movie is really cute, I use to watch it a lot as a kid but watching now as an adult it’s really cheesy but makes a really good drinking game film. It’s honestly one of those movies you watch when you want to get stoned and crack jokes about how cringe it is.

I had the dvd of this growing up and it was my favorite low budget movie as a kid. I thought this would be the same but they went with different shots and lots of really bad stock magic effects taking up the entire frame when Max used his magic. Not at all what I expected it to be.

This movie is amazing. If you want a brainless multi million dollar production, look elsewhere. This is honestly the most intelligent movie that I have ever seen. I own this movie and all the lord of the rings movies. I have watched this one more then all three of them put together, it is that good.The director didn't have a lot of money when he made it so there are some production value errors that other reviewers seem to look at with an unbalanced look against the movie. I have showed this movie to over 20 people and not one of them hated watching it with me. If you have a group of friends and want to sit around and drink while talking about a movie while watching it, this is the best. If you have good friends this will be an amazing watch.The scenery in the movie is beautiful and the soundtrack is very nice. I am not sure if I can find it but I will be looking after I make this post. I was unable to find it earlier.

Max is a little wimpy boy but then he gets magic powers and kicks [...]. In one scene Max fell down the stairs!!If you like adventure then rent this movie and hold on to your seat. Elf babes are in this movie but they do not expose sexual organs, nor do they consummate relationships until marriage.Max not only thrills us with cool tricks, he also shows us how to believe in ourselves, especially when life seems hard. Sometimes my life is hard, sometimes I don't know how to keep on living. That's when I put on Max Magician and find hope.There is no cussin' in this movie so you can watch it with the whole family. I don't have a family but I wish I did.Watch this movie, you will be amazed when Max summons a secret army!!!

My parents got this out of a Walmart bin when I was younger. My siblings and I loved to watch it because of how bad it is. It’s fun to make fun of and there’s a lot of one liners you can take from it. I’m now 27 and it’s still a classic. This is the second time I’m purchasing, because my last copy got stolen by one of my siblings. In fact this might be my third purchase after gifting another copy to a friend. It is one of the worst movies you’ll ever see and yet also one of the best. Highly recommend for a night in with friends.

It's a kids movie. As an adult watching, some of the dialogue and acting seems a bit cheesy, but as a kid, I never noticed. And even after years of not seeing it, the main theme of the movie, the typical "you can do anything if you put your mind to it" stuck with me. I loved this movie as a kid, and even rewatching it as an adult, I find myself laughing at the funny moments, and going "oh no!" when the character is in trouble.The main story is that Max, a boy who likes magic--the kind of magic stage magicians do--is bullied at his school, and is a loner. A neighbor gives him a magic book, and although at first Max brushes it off as nonsense, he quickly realizes that the spells do work, and that there is a world in danger that he can explore and save. Through the course of saving the woodland people from the evil King Dagdha, Max learns that even when you want to give up, things will work out if you've really tried your best.

It's so awful that you will die laughing, and that magician on the front cover (who never actually appears in the film - he's probably from an image of ClipArt or something) will bury you with a written copy of the script - the only copy, on a roll of andrex butt wipe - and will float away with his surprisingly well made costume flapping behind himBut on that note, you HAVE to buy it
