This is a great book for any Jeep lover........
This is a great book, very well done. There's a lot of helpful information here, a wealth of details peculiar to the WW2 jeep, all invaluable to any owner of that vintage vehicle. For the restorer, it furnishes a step by step process in readily understandable language for a complete rebuilding of a WW2 jeep. There were running changes that occurred during the time the WW2 jeep was manufactured and the author does a good job of outlining those while offering some realistic perspective on levels of restoration. As the author points out, there were many WW2 jeeps that were rebuilt by the military during that era using salvage parts from other jeeps that had been completely disassembled. No one really cared whether there were Ford parts installed on a Willys vehicle. The author does a good job of denoting the real differences between the Ford and Willys but acknowledges the difficulties in finding a "pure" vehicle with all the original parts. Maybe the best chance a serious restorer has is to find a jeep that completed its service life stateside. The one error I really did notice was attributing the authorship of the first two of the All American Wonder series to the author of a third book that had a similar look. This book by Mr. Dunnage has a very high quality binding with high quality paper pages. There's too much useful detail in this book to adequately describe in a short review, you have to see and read it. I don't believe any one could be disappointed, Mr. Dunnage deserves a lot of credit, these WW2 jeeps should be preserved. The average person with some skills really can help do this, it would be difficult to overstate the contribution the jeep made to our WW2 war effort.

Great book if you have a WWll jeep
The book is a great book!! lots of photos, and a view of restoring a jeep from someone who does not have huge perfect shop. tells of mistakes he made and how to build the jeep with common sense. I have all the jeep books here from the 1970s till this one, and I rate it in the top 5 I have. The only negative I have is on Amazon, the book was placed in a HUGE box with no, zero packaging. It could have easily been damaged.

Excellent!
Well written in an easygoing style, it's both informative and engaging. The author gives details of his successes and missteps, and both are invaluable to anyone looking for practical insight. Purists will cringe on occasion, but those with time or money constraints will appreciate what he accomplished. I recommend this to anyone that dreams of turning sad rust into an historic icon.

Good restoration reference.
This book gives excellent information for an authentic WWII restoration. In my case, I will be using it as a guide to build an MB out of reproduction items and as many salvage items I can find. This book goes into great detail that I haven't seen from many other books.
