Works - but you will need to have the key copied
My vehicle is a 2016 Expedition with remote-start, the remote looks like this but is 5 buttons. I've previously ordered additional keys from Amazon, maybe this same seller, and they've worked fine. This replacement isn't super easy, but it wasn't hard, either. Here's my story.I won't lie - my factory key was used to open a box one too many times - what can I say. Everything worked, but the plastic around the metal part of the key was cracked, and getting loose (got to the point where the metal key could pop out of the plastic remote and maybe get lost). Solution needed. I previously had the same problem with a 2012 Honda Pilot, and was able to buy just the shell (again maybe from this seller I don't know), and easily transplant the metal key and the remote portion (on the Honda remotes, the key is held by a screw, and the remote just fits inside the shell), the whole job took like 3 minutes. I was hoping this would be just as simple.I figured for $8 I'd give this a shot. Turns out the Ford key has a little circuit board for the remote, and the key is molded into the plastic. You can remove the battery, and then break apart the (already broken) plastic shell in order to remove the circuit board. I had to install a little battery contact, and then transfer over the rubber keypad (this came with a 4-button version, mine is 5) with the circuit board, into one half of the new plastic, and a middle cover snaps into place. Then you install the battery, and pop the other half of the cover together. Since the electronics were moved over, there's nothing to program, the remote just works. What I didn't realize was that the metal key would need to be copied. I actually have a key machine, but the remote part is too big, it won't fit on my machine. My guess is there's plenty of locksmiths that will copy the key portion for pretty cheap -- a lot cheaper than a replacement from the dealership.

Pristine!
Couldn't have asked for anything better! Swapped over guts from old key to this one. Went to a locksmith and got it copied/cut for 5 bucks! Best part about it, it works!

Fit and renewed
My Ford f150 key fob was worn out. The image on the buttons was gone and the buttons had become hard to use. This kit allowed me to put new buttons and contacts on my existing key. Cheapupdate

Delivered in three pieces-makes replacing chip simple!
My key broke off of the fob in the ignition... luckily I was able to pull it out with a pair of pliers. I ordered a few keys in hopes one would work. This key actually comes in three pieces, so if you have the programmed chip to put inside from your old key, you can simply replace it without breaking the plastic to access the back end. I did have to destroy my old key fob to get the chip out. The process of placing my old chip into this key, putting it back together might have taken me five minutes, probably less. Super simple.FYI This key did not come with a programmable chip inside, so if you need a new chip, this won't work for you.All of that said, I've been to three different stores, Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware. I read some reviews saying it was super easy, that some stores just cut it for free, no problem. None of these locations would CUT a key they didn't sell me. I was quoted $200 at Ace to program and cut one of their own keys but they wouldn't cut this one for me. Trying a locksmith today, so hopefully they can simply cut it for me!Following up here... I found a locksmith to cut the key for $2.

Factory key compatible
Needed the rubber touch pad so that I could tell which button was the lock or unlock. This was a perfect match to my car key and ez to switch out.

Not a product for every replacement
Used it to replace the case on my smart key. Unfortunately it didn’t fix the problem. It wouldn’t fix the function to open door on car.
