I like that it illuminates far and wide area. Very bright, zooms in and out if needing to focus on smaller area. The flashlight does take batteries (3 C batteries) and has some weight to it--a good thing. It also has a wrist strap, very convenient. Would buy again.

Great Flash light

The best flashlight I have ever owned. I am selling/discarding all my older LED flashlights. This flashlight is constructed with a durable aluminum housing, has a very uniform beam and precision control of the spot size. I have purchased multiple of these including 3-cell, 4-cell and the AAA versions. They are well worth the money.

I bought this 2 years ago and love it. I use rechargeable lithium batteries and they actually toggle high and low to let me know when to charge them. Anyway, last night I dropped the flashlight and it landed lens first on the deck. Something in the lens compartment slid forward so the batteries no longer fit tightly in the tube. I added 3 copper pennies in the butt end to take up the space and it works just fine again.

This flashlight is unbelievably bright, it will definitely blind an attacker. Also very well made, 4 c cell batteries mean this weighs considerably less than a 4 d cell flashlight, and takes up less room in my backpack. Stout enough to use as a weapon if needed. The zoom works exceptionally well. Great price too. I highly recommend.

Feit FT1700 bought at Amazon 5/2023. Great flashlight when it lights up. By 11/2023 the switch had stopped working after a little use. Jumpered out the switch and the flashlight lights up perfectly. Switch appears to be non-repairable. Bad switch may be the reason other customers had problems with flashing or cutting off or just not lighting. I will try to get switch replacement from FEIT.com but my hopes are not high.Update Dec 2023: Contacted FEIT by e-mail and they asked for shipping address and in a few weeks they sent me a brand new one. I dismembered the tail switch and found that the push-push switch inside the tail cap was bad. Searching the web for just the switch was not productive. I am happy now. 5 stars.

First one received was dead on arrival and was replaced by Amazon. I like the features this has- adjustable focus, good brightness, good battery life, good price, a low and a high setting and a rugged case. I received my replacement on February 14 of this year and I'm now having problems with it, even though it has not been subjected to weather or dropping. A few days ago brightness reduced to a tenth of what it was previously and two new sets of batteries have not resolved that issue. This flashlight is now essentially useless. I cannot recommend this light as it is not dependable. I would look for a different brand as that is what I am going to do based on my poor experience with it. How many times do you want to buy something? I like to buy something once, take good care of it, and use it for many years. You probably will not be able to successfully do this with the FeitElectric FL1000. So I'm very disappointed with this product.This review has been posted for months and no one has contacted me so if you have an issue with this product do not expect company support! Will not buy Feit brand ever again.

Normally use Streamlight flashlights for EDC, but been slowly rebuilding some emergency / earthquake preparations supplies. Had a bunch of C Cells laying around and wanted a couple cheaper flashlights just to have around.Feit was one of the few brands that had a super bright flashlight that ran off C Cell batteries and still much cheaper than a Maglite. Decided to give it a chance and pleasantly surprised.Well made and works pretty well out of the box. Very much in line with some of the cheaper Kobalt flashlights I have laying around.Streamlight will always be my first sure for EDC, but these are worth considering for a high performing, budget flashlight for either an emergency kit or just to have an extra flashlight around. Especially if you happen to have a lot of C Cell batteries around
