A bag I can trust for all conditions & terrain. 10/10
Great quality back pack. I chose this for its number of pockets and compartments. The side pockets are especially useful for water bottles. It feels extremely good quality. I have owned this for around 6 weeks now and I have taken it on several hikes including Pen y Fan, Corn Du, Fan Y Big and Llyn Y Fan Fach/Fawr. All in the Brecon Beacons. It has performed better than expected. There is a waterproof cover that comes with it, which is very useful. I have had a couple of people ask me where I got it from whilst out hiking. It really looks the part. I have worn this in rain, snow and sunny weather so far. The bag also feels really comfortable to wear. I carry a weight of around 12-15kgs when I'm out hiking, and this bag handles it really well. I am a big chap. 15.5 stone and this fits me just fine. Plenty of adjustable space for the bigger or smaller person. When compared to other back packs which cost double this, then this really is an amazing deal. I would highly recommend this product. Seems it will last me a long, long time. Very happy.

Very pleased
Just to say, I have used a backpack all my adult life, and in my younger years went through 2 of the old Karrimor packs travelling. This Mountaintop 40L Hiking Backpack I got for regular day-to-day use carrying a light to mid load. It is very suitable for this purpose. For the price, you can’t complain about anything. It is relatively well made and thought out, with good zippers and various practical straps for carrying gear. The fabric is rip-stop nylon. It has a rain cover, which I wasn’t expecting as it wasn’t advertised as having one. It is situated at the base in its dedicated compartment to which it is fastened with a D-strap, which makes it easy to get out and cover the pack. It is one of the nice touches to this pack. Previous packs I have always tried out and bought from a shop, but I was prepared to buy online in this instance. As it happens, at 6’ 3” the pack only just fits me. The RRP, if it’s genuine, seems steep, and I wouldn’t have paid that. One of the main reasons I chose this pack was it suited my needs and looked a bargain. The pack is roomy and expandable enough to house a reasonable number of items, but is not too big. The straps at the bottom are very helpful for fastening say a sleeping bag or a raincoat. It has a flexible structure. I took it packed with a few essentials into the cabin on a recent Easyjet flight with no problem. I wouldn’t recommend trying it though with the pack full. I would be happy to use this pack for light hiking and trips, but not for travelling. For that I would invest in something more appropriate and substantial. The Mountaintop, for example, has a basic belt fastening, but for travelling and carrying a heavier load you need a proper belt system that takes weight off the shoulders.

Great Rucksack. Shame about the zip pulls!
This is a fabulous rucksack. Well made in the main and very comfortable to wear on a hike. It holds everything you need for a days hike and has plenty of pockets. The way the straps fit does really even out the weight and make it easy to wear and carry. I particularly like that the rain cover is not part of the bag, but has its own pocket. This means it can be placed over the whole bag. It’s an excellent bright colour which is handy to make you stand out if you are walking on country lanes! The only downside is the quality of the zip pulls. They are not doubled over so in just one day, on a 5.5 mile hike, they started fraying. This is such a shame on an otherwise high quality rucksack. We used a lighter to melt the ends to try and stop them fraying any further, but they definitely should be sewn as a loop. I would definitely recommend the rucksack despite the zip pull issue.

Great rucksack for everyday
I bought this rucksack to replace an existing one that was beginning to fall apart after 10 years of extensive use. So far, it has not disappointed. It's a very useful but not overwhelming size and is great for everyday use. It has a number of pockets at convenient places and the zips seem sturdy. The weight is evenly distributed and supported with chest and belly straps. The shoulder straps are also nicely padded and offer good support.

Great bag
This completed my entire 2024 hiking season and is heading into my 2025 season without an issue. It’s survived heat and rain, snow and frozen conditions. It’s even dealt with scrambles and the endless miles of bouncing around on my back loaded with kit. The zips, stitching and straps are as good as they were when I unpacked it. It doesn’t scream influencer branding which I like, it’s a good strong bag that needs to get the job done. So happy I went with this bag and if I need to replace it I’ll go like for like. This will easily go into the 2026 season without a doubt. Waist brace is comfy, shoulder straps are also and the pocket on the waist strap helps for small items to be in reach like energy chewables on walks.

Great backpack, and info about pockets
This is the fourth of these Mountaintop 40 litre backpacks I've bought, not because they died, but because I have four children and the first three are all still going strong (from 2018 or before). They are really good for the price - obvs you can pay £250 for a better one, but I'd rather pay £48 for this. Perfect size for cabin baggage, too. Here is some info and photos for people who care about pockets. In the big main pocket there's a sub-pocket which fits a 15" laptop no problem. There are two side mesh pockets for drinks. Underneath is the pocket for the rain cover, which is nice and bright. There are two deep pockets on the front, and in the upper one is another zip pocket as well as pen pockets. Also on the strap is a phone pocket, which fits a 6" phone, though it's a bit tight.

Yorkshire 3 Peaks
I got this, when I did Yorkshire 3 Peaks, and to be fair, it was probably overkill, I certainly didn't need the capacity being offered in this bad, but its a good solid bag, with a lot of capacity. Very good quality, a lot of pockets, good material and zip quality.
