Works better than expected, and I like that it also has a button to manually turn it on and off

The product was shipped immediately and well packaged. Installed easily and the operating instruction weee easy to understand. The switch will auto on and off based on time or humidity level.

It works. Is reliable. You can set the humidity to turn it on. I love it.

Was really hopeful after watching the slick videos on this thing, but the "Sense on Humidity rise mode" never worked right after trying several different sensitivity levels. The product videos claim it will turn on before mirror fog. I wish it were true. Mirrors can be fogged, and steam from the shower can be thick enough to be forming clouds filling the room and it won't go off reliably. When increasing sensitivity to point that it would turn on at least sometimes while showering in Auto sense mode then it would end up going intermittently on during the middle of the night. It was impossible to find a middle ground of it reliably turning on when it should, but not occasionally cycling at night when it shouldn't. I also tried the Fixed RH mode, but was still never able to get a combination of RH threshold and sensitivity level that would work reliably. This is in a small bathroom (~9x5 ft), with the door closed, so it should be a pretty easy use case to beat (humidity spike really should be detectible), but no luck. Don't get your hopes up on this unit, and if you choose to try anyway, keep an eye on your return window so you can pull it before you are stuck with it.

I love this humidity sensing wall switch, it's a real treat.Every morning, I turn on the shower, and about the time I climb in, the water is warm enough to trigger the sensor for the increased humidity in the room and I hear the fan start up. It keeps the fan running for at least 10-15 minutes after I shut the water off, and the humidity in the room clears out.So if I love it this much, why didn't I give it 5 stars? Simply because the initial configuration -- balancing the humidity and timer levels -- is not obvious and the instructions are too brief to make it really clear for someone (like me) who had no idea. At first it turned the fan on, and it stayed on. Then, after an adjustment, it turned off, but went on again even though nobody was using the shower. After several more trial-and-error adjustments, I finally got it set to where it seems to work perfectly in a bathroom the size of mine.So as long as you realize it's not totally a plug-and-play product, I strongly recommend it. (Note: be sure to attach a neutral wire when hooking it up, or it won't work.) Now my wife is suggesting we get one for the second bathroom in our house.

It will turn on automatically with a change in humidity

We were really excited to pair these up in our guest and master bathrooms with our new NuTone exhaust fans. For 3 months things went fine, then the fans started turning on at random times all day and night. No matter how high I set the humidity setting, they still come on. I have used several other humidistats in the rooms closer and further away from the humidity source just to test and the humidity never goes above 60% when the room is dry, but they still come on. Even when we set them to "cycle" on which they should only activate when we press the button, they come on at random times all day.Now we're going on vacation and I'm going to have to uninstall them just so that they don't constantly run while we're away. NuTone made such great products that inspired confidence in the brand but these switches definitely break the win streak...

Disappointed in the humidity sensing performance of this switch.The fan keeps turning on all day long when no one is in the bathroom.I put a digital humidity sensor on the counter next to where the switch is installed to try to calibrate the settings but with a steady 59 to 61% showing on the meter, the switch continually activates.Adjusted sensitivity with no improvement.Set to manual humidity of 80% and it still turned on at 60%.I assume the rise function is what is triggering the fan to come on but inside is a constant 59 to 60 (when shower not is use) and the fan is still coming on repeatedly.
