N gauge C57 1: 2024-steam locomotive model

Even though it was shipped from Japan to the US, it arrived quickly and in perfect shape. It runs great and is a pleasure to watch. It has a rapido coupler (I think that’s the right term for a standard coupler, but I’m new to this), not a knuckle coupler. Alternative couplers are in the package but I’m glad I didn’t have to try to change it. So small! We’ve had it pulling 5 freight cars and a caboose.

It’s my first N scale engine not to be Thomas-related and my first model train overall not to be that. My C-57 is numbered #46 and it runs SUPER FAST!!! WOW!!!

This Kato engine is great fine details run smooth

Detailed, smooth running, but it comes with Japanese couplings, that can't hook to my rolling stock. The locomotive and tender comes with appropriate couplings, but directions on how to install the couplings is in Japanese. If I don't get directions soon it will be going back.

Very disappointed in kato and the seller, fast japan us, ...their advertised specifications had this 7.48 inches...as you can see it is only 5.25 inch! Going back!

A beautiful Locomotive, great price too. Loco has great detail, feels solid, runs real smooth and quiet. The Packaging is first class to keep the Train protected when not in use. Kato does that on all the stuff they sell. It had a return address from Japan but I got it pretty fast. They must had put it on a Jumbo jet headed to Seattle the day after I ordered it. Not like the Chinese stuff that is sent to US on a slow moving Container ship that then sits in covid quarantine for a couple weeks after it finally arrives Added a Video with C-57 running on 9.5 Radius Kato Track about 34 inch long. It is pulling some Kato Passenger Cars. (Not part of the Loco). The Loco is longer than some Steam Loco's, but ran on the Short Radius track nicely at a Medium speed setting. I am using the standard Rapido Coupler. The Loco has knuckle couplers that can be changed out. They did not seem to be the magnetic ones though.

the engine works perfectly and looks great on a small scale layout that I have set out on my desk. Grand-children think it 's cool. I ahve recently bought more rails via amazon to enhance my layout and will continue to buy more as the design evolves
