very organized and clearly written ideas
The book is well written, easy to read and understand the ideas and how to implement them. I felt motivated to try, it is not written in a condescending tone and clearly explains the ideas. I liked that parents also get a chapter :)

Loved this book to prepare for our first baby.
Loved this book so much. It gave me numerous ideas for arranging and organizing our babies room and toys, and also helped me understand the Montessori philosophy so well. I’d recommend this book to any new momma - it makes a great read during pregnancy!

My Montessori doulas!
The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love everything about this book. The authors are amazing guides for prospective parents (whether you’re a solo parent-to-be, a couple, adopting, or the parent of an existing child who is reading this in preparation for another child). I love how this follows Maria Montessori’s history and ideals, and is true to real Montessori roots. There are so many items that social media and shopping apps tell you that you NEED to buy, as though you’re a bad parent if you don’t purchase the most expensive AI crib, latest technology, etc. for your baby. However, simplicity helps babies to thrive and this book helps explain what kind of environment to set up to nurture our children. This book reminds us that babies deserve respect, are far more complex than we give them credit, and that they’re capable of amazing us if given the chance to express themselves and, in-turn, deserve that we observe them prior to rushing them through life. Whether you’re familiar with Montessori or want to be, the authors do a fantastic job of explaining everything. The pictures and drawings are so sweet.

Montessori Observation
I bought this book when my baby was 1 mo old. I've read it twice and followed the suggestions to support development as i am able. We have a floor bed and I've been putting her in it for quite a few months now. My baby is now 8 mo old she cannot crawl forward yet, but she can crawl back into a sitting position. I was putting her to bed on her floor bed and she was fussy which has been normal and I've been trying to figure out why she isn't ready. Finally she rolled into her belly and slide off her bed and began to play with her rattles in a basket by her bed. I moved into her bed and laid down watching her. After a minute she reached for me, I pulled her into her bed and she drifted off to sleep on her own (no nursing no binky). I'm a new mom, my 8 mo old is my first. I'm shocked! She recognized that she was tired and reached for me on her bed when she was ready. Just like the Montessori book suggested would happen. I love this book. The drawings are simple and beautiful, the text is clear and encouraging. Love it!!

Great book if you want a Montessori home.
"The Montessori Baby" is a comprehensive guide to applying the Montessori method of education to infants and toddlers. Written by Simone Davies, a Montessori teacher and founder of the Jacaranda Tree Montessori school in Amsterdam, the book provides practical tips and insights on how to create a nurturing environment that supports the development of young children. The book is divided into three parts, with the first section introducing the Montessori method and its principles, such as respect for the child, observation, and the importance of the prepared environment. The second part focuses on the specific needs and abilities of infants and toddlers, and how the Montessori approach can be adapted to meet those needs. The final section of the book provides guidance on how to create a Montessori-inspired home, including tips on setting up a play area, choosing toys and materials, and establishing daily routines. One of the strengths of "The Montessori Baby" is its emphasis on observation and respect for the child's individual development. The author encourages parents and caregivers to observe their child's interests, needs, and abilities, and to tailor their interactions and environment accordingly. This approach promotes a sense of independence and autonomy in the child, and can help foster a lifelong love of learning.Another strength of the book is its practicality. The author provides concrete examples and suggestions for how to implement the Montessori approach in daily life, from creating a diaper changing station to choosing appropriate toys and materials. The book is also well-organized and easy to navigate, with helpful summaries and bullet points throughout. However, one potential weakness of "The Montessori Baby" is that it may be overwhelming for parents who are new to the Montessori method or who feel pressure to create a perfect Montessori environment. While the author acknowledges that no home can be completely Montessori, some parents may still feel intimidated by the high standards presented in the book. In addition, it is crucial that the primary caregiver is invested in the principles outlined in this book. It can be challenging for a working father to discourage a stay-at-home mother from using an ExcerSaucer if she does not fully support the Montessori method.Overall, "The Montessori Baby" is an excellent resource for parents and caregivers who are interested in applying the Montessori method to their young children. The book provides a wealth of practical advice and insights, while also emphasizing the importance of observation and respect for the child's individual development.

Very Insightful
I am an expecting first time mother. I don’t know much about being a parent, however, I do know that I want to teach my children independence and to have confidence in themselves and their actions. This book gives concrete applications that you can make to your life, how you interact with your child and how to set up an environment that supports child learning and independence. This book has greatly influenced the products that I will buy as a first time mom as well as how I will parent my baby once the sweet little one arrives. I am thankful for the authors who are so passionate about child education and development also for the wisdom that has been instilled in me through reading this book.
