Excellent SFX PSU (on the 2nd try)
I pieced out my system with a 6950xt (recommended 850w PSU). I couldn't fit an SFX-L into my system, so I had limited options. Good thing cooler master has a great solution to this.I received a unit with some amount of coil whine/buzzing when under medium load. I then did some benchmark tests and noticed when the wattage draw was higher, the coil whine/buzzing became louder. Up until the point it was masked a bit by fan noise. Since my build is ITX and on my desk this drove me crazy.I sent the unit back for a replacement. The new unit works just as intended. No coil whine or buzz. Flawless.

So far so good!
Like any power supply, and I have had lots of them through my computer building years. Some good and some were terrible. I had three higher end corsairs fail right out of the box's during testing. The first one lit my board on fire before I started getting smarter. So ya never know right? This mighty little 850w fired right up, the testing mod says it is hitting at 110ms boot up speed which is at the highest end of the spectrum. May be due to the smaller caps they are using? My very first water-cooled mini ITX build so a small form size supply is crucial. I did my homework before ordering this one and time will tell how well it functions after I run it for awhile. Sadly my Mini ITX board is bad (turns out someone substituted a used bad board in a new box, yeah it happens to other people also). So this will sit a little longer before I can review it properly under load. All I have done so far is power up my water pump circuit and the fan hasn't come on yet. All I can say is the build quality is top notch!

850w power for the win
First off, the price to power value is outstanding. 850w in SFX for the listed price of $140 is just mind blowing, that’s the same cost as my ATX 850w from another manufacturer. Now, the fan issue. it is louder than my previous 650w SFX but nothing worth complaining about. i rest easier knowing the internals are being cooler more than they need. again, it’s louder than my previous PSU but had I never had another PSU I would not notice anything out of the ordinary. The style of the provided cables are hit or miss. I personally don’t enjoy the flat/side by side style of cable due to the increased difficulty in cable management. Other may like it, or will run extensions. Either way, not my style. Does not affect functionality of the unit itself

Almost Perfect
So, I got this when I wanted to build my very first SFF case, but alas, it never arrived. Amazon made it right but I eventually just ended up buying another one elsewhere. I was sad it didn't come with the 40 series adapter but meh, it was a great sale at the time. It was a little louder than my SF750 Corsair PSU but that was to be expected. Overall, it is a good PSU if you don't need whisper quiet and from what I hear, it's been upgraded so give it a shot, you won't be disappointed (unless maybe you work in a library).

Decent but overpriced in my opinion as most Form factor parts are.
The Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold packs a serious punch in a miniature package, but is it the perfect PSU for your mini-ITX build? Let's dive in:Powerhouse in a Pint-Sized Package:850W of juice makes it suitable for even the most power-hungry builds, from high-end CPUs to RTX 3080s.80+ Gold efficiency keeps energy waste and your electricity bill in check.Compact SFX form factor fits snugly in mini-ITX cases, leaving room for your other components to shine.Whisper-Quiet Cooling: (mostly)FDB fan spins silently under normal loads, keeping your rig a tranquil oasis.Even under heavy pressure, noise levels stay surprisingly low, although some users report a noticeable hum.Modular Magic: ✨Fully modular cables let you ditch the clutter and keep your case looking sleek and tidy.High-quality braided cables are durable and flexible, making installation a breeze.A Few Snags to Consider:Price tag reflects the premium performance and compact size, making it pricier than some non-SFX options. The included SFX-to-ATX bracket might be unnecessary for some mini-ITX cases and adds extra bulk.A couple of user reports mention coil whine under specific workloads, though not a widespread issue.Verdict:The Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold is a top contender for mini-ITX builders seeking top-tier power and quiet operation. Its compact size, high efficiency, and modular cables make it a dream for building clean and cool rigs. However, the premium price tag and potential for minor noise quirks might give budget-conscious or noise-sensitive users pause. In short:Get it if: You want the best power delivery and efficiency for your mini-ITX build, prioritize low noise, and appreciate quality craftsmanship.Skip it if: You're on a tight budget, can tolerate a bit more noise, or don't need the absolute power-house performance for your setup.

Awful customer service for a defective product within warranty period
Fan started making awful noise about a year into purchase. Reached out for an RMA and they required the power supply be sent back with no estimated time to fix. They would not send a replacement first. I cannot be without a computer for an unknown period of time so I am purchasing a different power supply from another manufacturer. I will never buy Cooler Master products again
