Awesome Slicer!!
I received this slicer in pristine condition. Set up was easy and it worked like a charm! Disassembly for cleaning was not difficult and putting it back together took minutes. The blade is wicked sharp so handle with care. I recommend wearing cut proof gloves. My first use was top round steak for jerky and every cut was precise. Would definitely purchase again.

Value For Price
I had purchased a Chef'sChoice 6150000 Food Slicer back in January 2015. It was a good slicer, easy to use and easy to clean. But it was a light duty slicer. When it finally fell apart a week ago, (Meat partially still frozen was to much of a load for the light duty slicer) I decided to hunt something down that was a little heavier duty,....yet still in my budget. After a good bit of time researching, I settled on this. The KWS Premium Commercial 320w Electric Meat Slicer 10" with Non-sticky Teflon Blade. It came in today. I unboxed the unit and was immediately somewhat disappointed. I immediately saw two scratches on the main body of the slicer. I thought about sending it back,...then decided it was just a tool. My next step was to perform an operation because of fellow reviews. I took the unit apart so I could remove the three screws holding the blade. When I got to the three screws,.....I found that they were NOT overly tight. But I was again disappointed in the plate that covers the blade. There was an edge that looks to have hit something hard. The edge was rough and I knew it would catch the product I would be slicing. Also the actual blade had an imperfection on it, that was coated over with Teflon. If I was to ever slice cheese,....this would be where the cheese would stick and start to build up.I did browse through the owners manual and as others have stated,.....it is pretty much useless.I cleaned everything up and put it back together. I then started slicing boneless chicken. These are my observations. The machine is very quiet. And the machine does slice very well. Is it a true commercial slicer? No! But you have to use common sense here. A machine that costs less than $400 will never compete with a machine that costs several thousands of dollars. Is it heavier duty than the $125 Chef'sChoice 6150000 Food Slicer? Absolutely! What I like about the slicer is I do believe that it will last me several years, especially since I am a very light user. I will perhaps use the machine 1/2 hour every two weeks. What I do not like is the blemishes that seem to have left the factory this way. (No damage to outside box what so ever.) It is also much more difficult to clean than my previous slicer. But I expect all slicers built to replica commercial slicers would have that same difficulty. In a nut shell, the reason this slicer is not re-packaged and labeled to go back to Amazon is because I believe it is still a good value for the price paid.

Very happy with purchase.
Fantastic slicer. Cuts frozen or raw meat. Easy to clean. Very sturdy. Don't waste you time and money on a cheap one pay a little more for this one.

Quality slicer!
I got this primarily to slice meat for slicing meat for Korean barbeque and for jerky. I could never get the butcher at the grocery to cut the meat as I requested. The red slicer is pretty (except for a couple of scratches it came with), but I anticipate more scratches over time. I wish an identical silver model had been available for the same price. As far as performance: When I was working with meat that was half frozen, it made quick work of slicing a roast, with smooth cuts and back and forth movement of the platform. However, it didn’t perform well with a raw roast that was not frozen — the meat was just not firm enough to keep its shape, and shifted off kilter on each pass back. I haven’t tried cooked meat yet.As far as cleaning. Holy Moly. It took me about 45 minutes to get it apart and clean the pieces. Believe the complaints about the screws on the blade being so tight you are in danger of stripping the heads. I had to get my husband to work the screwdriver while I held the blade and the slicer still (The blade kept spinning as he tried to turn the screws.) With very slow turning and hard pushing, he finally got them loose without stripping them. Now that I’ve done it once, it won’t take as long the next time, but it will still be a 30 minute task.Overall I’m pleased with the slicer because it does a great job for my purpose — but because of the pain to clean, it probably won’t be something I’ll pull out casually to do a small quick job.UPDATE: I did a second round of slicing and cleaning was much quicker and easier now that I know what to do (and what NOT to do). Tips: In addition to protective gloves, I put a towel on the area under the blade as I was removing or replacing it, to avoid scratches on the paint, and also for safety. Also — I put some plastic wrap on the back plate (where the meat lands). It made cleanup and sanitizing a lot easier. I also covered the on/off switch and the thickness knob with plastic wrap so as not to contaminate them. And finally, I put rubber gloves on OVER my kevlar gloves — it kept them clean, dry and sanitary.

A great deli slicer for the home
This is an excellent slicer for the home. It easily and quitely cuts meats and cheeses. It is heavy and solid enough that it will not wander on the countertop, and will reliably and repeatedly cut any food item you need a slicer for. The motor is both quieter and more powerful than comparable slicers.Disassembly and cleaning is relatively easy, and parts are available from the manufacturer. The price may be higher than cheap slicers but this slicer will last long enough that you would throw away many $100 or $150 slicers before even coming close to wearing out the first blade on this slicer. However the fit and finish of my unit was a bit off - nothing that was dangerous or interfered with function, but minor annoyances. It was missing color on the body tick mark for the dial. The blade protection ring is very slightly angled. And I needed to use a washer to level the feet for my counter, which I know to be flat (I would have appreciated leveling feet)But none of these cause any hazard or interfere with safe operation.Edit: the tick mark was fixed by a silver Sharpie, I was able to adjust the blade protection ring - there are adjustment screws. So the only real issue was the non-level feet.
