Nice gadget, perfect. Sturdy, smooth operation. Simple to use. Love it. Needed something to check that our new low pitched extension roof rafters were going to meet building regs and be no less than 15 degrees. This did the job. Tested it on other things that I knew were 60 degrees and 90 degrees etc and it gave accurate readings. Perfect. As to the negative reviews on here referencing that it's not very robust, or the LCD screen broke, or it's flimsy... It's not a clump hammer! You need to store it accordingly. I wouldn't just chuck this in my toolbox with loads of spanners on top of it. Hope that helps. :-)

This is a super-duper product, very accurate & I'm very impressed & pleased, although I don't get some reviews stating they need an elastic band to keep it closed or the slightest movement will turn it on. It has an on/off button, press briefly-shuts off display to save power, press again or open the rule to display the readout, it will auto close display after approx. 6 mins of inactivity. Keep on/off button depressed longer ( 3 secs )-shuts down the whole unit, not even opening it will activate it, you need to press on/off to switch it on. Anyway, setting up the mitre saw with pencil & paper & protractor are history, hurrah.

Broke within minutes of unpacking.
Whilst it worked, it appeared to be accurate. However the simple act of turning it off by a sustained press of the OFF button was enough to permanently put the device out of action. The digital readout now reads 8888 when powered on.removing / reinstalling the battery doesn't help. Shame as it showed promise. Will be ordering a mechanical angle gauge as a replacement.

I wouldn't trust it...
The first thing I noticed was how flimsy it felt, with a cheap plastic reader fitted to the metal rulers. Once I'd fitted the batteries, it was quite difficult to get it to acknowledge when the two rulers were at '0' so that I could get a true angle reading. Instead, it would start from different points and give totally false readings. I realised that it would be far quicker to just use a metal protractor and look at the reading. Unfortunately, the device's screen started freezing within ten minutes of use and became unreadable, so I had to send it back. My feeling is that if the measurement is critical, this device cannot be trusted.

Fantastic, makes finding angles super quick and easy for so many applications.
Bought this to help with measuring the angles for laminate flooring and it has made the job so much easier!Brilliant little tool you can measure the angle using, lock it and take to the cutting saw to recreate.Has saved me so much time and aggro. And the digital display helps for any math that needs to be done, or recreating measured angles at a later date.Seriously, this should be in every tool bag!

Good Price. Sound Brand
I cannot fault Trend who have carved an important pro niche in the router space. Sure, twice the price of bottom-end stuff that looks similar. BUT you'll get much more than twice the longevity - so money well spent. I like their router bits in particular.I particularly like the ability to zero when the rules are apart. Not going to explain that, carpenters will know. This baby probably shares the same digital read out thingy as a whole host of others but the sturdy 20cm rules are reassuring. At a fiver more than said competition this is a "no brainer" and you are assured good customer service from the UK.

Should have bought this years ago
Some people comment that it drains the battery & activates on its own. Just remember to press the on/off button for a few seconds & it turns itself off. When you want to use it again, press the button again & it will show the previous angle value that was set.I took this to a store to ascertain the angle of a bracket. Wrote it down & made the same item at home for a 1/5th of what the store charged. It's already paid for itself. Perfect, thank you

Daddy's present faulty - upset child.
Looks good, seems easy to use but ....... crazy fault ..... set it closed and level. Zero it, slowly open it to 90 degrees ..... it moved too slowly to read 23 degrees when it was actually 45 degrees.... then as it moved from real 45 to 60 degrees its reading jumped to 95 degrees the 452 degrees and by the time it got to real 90 degrees it had gone down to read 223 degrees. It would also not turn off .... or if it did it immediately turned itself back on and began to take readings and change without being moved. I returned the item.
