Grateful for DDR3 Availability - Great Performance at a Great Price!
Thanks for still making DDR3 RAM available. I had a 8GB Transcend stick running at 1333MHz, and now my PC feels much faster after upgrading with this one. The Patriot RAM looks premium, performs well, and comes at an affordable price. Appreciate the timely delivery thanks to Patriot and Amazon!

So, this is what happened......... Back in 2020 or 19 or 18 or 15 or... Look I can't remember all the details so I'll just pick a year at random...... 4530... Anyway, I had to purchase a new PC for my father for Christmas because the old system I shunned was no longer performing the way he always envisioned it would in......the past (i3-3320, 4GB of RAM 15 year old mechanical drive, some dust and cobwebs and a little vindictive dog urine). So I scoured the internet, cold and alone, and at times very hungry, but never bored. I decided to spare myself the hassle of continuing my quest for components and the subsequent effort of assembly, and adjusted my search for a pre-built, instead. When I informed our intern of my quest, he advised that he has a DDR3 system he no longer needs or wants. I'm a sucker for a bargain so I told him I would repay him by giving him nothing in return. He agreed, thus solidifying my negotiating prowess for things others do not care to sell. This system comprised of an ASUS Z97-A DDR3 motherboard, 22GB of RAM in various capacity modules, an i5-4460 CPU and an AMD R235 GPU. I bought the remaining components required for the system to function, and Frankensteined the monster back to life. It ran like this for some time. A year or so, maybe more, maybe less...maybe more... At some point I ventured into HWinfo64 and took a closer look at the RAM. Something wasn't right. Then I CPU-Zed the SOB, and the deception became evident, but the interns 8 month work term meant he was long gone. He got away with no profit, leaving me with lots of money saved on motherboard, CPU, GPU and RAM. Damn. Never falling for TAHT again!!! To make matters worse, the RAM modules were installed in the 4 DIMM slots were as follows: 16GB (2X8GB) Kingston Fury Beast at 1600 MT/s in the A2/B2 slots, 4GB of basic Kingston RAM at 1333 MT/s in A1 slot and a 2GB Kingston stick in B1 running at.... 667 MT/s. Which means...... Thaaaaaaaaat's right. ALL the modules were running at 667 MT/s. The default of the slowest module. Unacceptable. So I decided to remove the 4GB and 2GB modules, figuring less capacity but higher speeds would be beneficial. I was right. But the journey doesn't end here. Over time I was informed that the system became unstable, resulting in frequent BSOD's. I became perplexed, but my 12 year old daughter suggested I destabilized the system by removing the RAM modules and you know what? The little critter was right. I ran memory tests on the Fury modules and diagnosed lots of errors. These two were NOT communicating, at all. It was like husband and wife after 10 years of marriage. They bloody well HATED each other. Inevitably, they got a divorce and left their ASUS home. First one 8GB module, and a few months later, the other left the property, as well, because I came upon this couple of well behaved newly weds in search of permanent residence. At 1866 MT/s the system runs better than it has ever run before. Very stable, no crashes and two sticks means dual channel again, thus improving performance, somewhat. My OCD has been subdued once again. This is the second Patriot Viper DDR3 kit I have purchased. The first being a pair of 1600 MT/s modules for an older system I use when browsing or streaming Formula 1, and such. Highly recommend these at current prices. The only drawback is the PCB's are green and not black. But they are hardly visible when in the system so this is not a crucial requirement. Definitely recommended and if there are ay other DDR3 systems I need to populate with new RAM modules, I'm coming back here and taming more of these potent creatures.

Value for money for the performance and considering an older generation of RAM in 2024. Effective way to refresh older PCs and far cheaper than what Corsair Vengeance or similar are currently sold at.
