Great air travel bag for a larger small dog
I got a large sized bag and was nervous that my Chihuahua mix would be considered too big for it and turned away at the airport, but we had no issues whatsoever. My dog is about 15 in at the shoulder and has long legs, but he is lean and only weighs about 15 lbs. We flew on WestJet into Calgary- the agents didn't even look at him during check in and the bag fit perfectly in a window seat (definitely wouldn't have fit under the aisle or middle). He can't stand up fully but can turn around and is comfortable laying down. The bag is overall well made and designed, but with a 16 lb dog it got pretty uncomfortable on my shoulder when carrying him around the airport. Overall a great bag!

This is the largest soft carryon bag for the air travel I could find.
To be safe, I purchased 1st class tickets on United Airlines, as this bag exceeds the published pets' carryon limits. We had to get our 23LBS Beagle into the bag and keep him reasonably comfortable. He did not fit into several other bags that were smaller. This bag is sturdy with a light board at the base and flexible rods that keep the bag expanded. When the bag is slid under the seat, the top gives, but does not fold. I don't believe it would fit under a regular seat. Even with a first-class seat, we kept the bag half-way under the seat in front. Of course, the flight attendants let it slide. The flaps open up on the top and the sides for ear circulation, but you need to watch it, as they can easily come down. That is the only reason I gave Comfort rating of 4 stars.

Great travel carrier
This bag is well engineered and has well thought out design features. It was great for our dog that weighs 23 pounds. Comfortable and fit under the airline seat on American Airlines.

Loved it but had to send it back.
This very well made, easy to assemble dog carrier wasn’t big enough for my 28 lb mixed breed dog (french bull dog and yorkie). It was hard to get her inside and when I finally did by using force, I could bearly lift the carrier. Here are some suggestions for improvement. Add the removable wheels that other vendors have come up with. Increase the head opening on top to be a full opening so dog can be placed inside instead of expecting the dog to walk in side opening. Add a light color fabric to the inside as it is really dark which could be scary for a dog new to carriers. The lge size carrier I had selected was a dark navy blue. With those improvements you will have the best pet carrier one can ask for.

High quality bag with some downsides
I did a ton of research on airline compliant pet carriers for my 15 lb pup and this is one of a few I chose. The bag is super high quality and looks quite durable. The bed inside is also probably the most comfortable of the carriers I ordered. It does have flaps on the top you can open for more ventilation. Also the rounded shape plus the strap make it way more ergonomic to carry over your shoulder than the rectangular ones. But I ended up going with another carrier for a few different reasons. The main issue for the large size of the SturdiBag is that my pup is at the limit of fitting comfortably in the the airline compliant dimensions, and because this bag is rounded that meant total space was tighter for him compared to a rectangular bag with similar dimensions. The other issue is that the only opening to the bag is on the front, whereas the carrier I went with also opens on the top. This makes it easier to train your dog to get use to the carrier and also gives you more optionality when using it than the SturdiBag.That said the SturdiBag was more comfortable to carry over my shoulder so if my dog had fit more comfortably I would have definitely gone with it. In the end I’m going with the Roverlund carrier which also has the benefit of being able to be carried as a backpack.

I definitely recommend!
This bag was referred to me by a family member who has the small. But we wanted to travel with our 20 week old cocker spaniel puppy (23lbs), so we got the large. The Large’s dimensions are right at Delta’s bag requirements, and we had no issues traveling with him. The bottom cushion is very plush, so he was very comfy! Some advice with the large, slide the bag in from the aisle instead of trying to place it down once you’re in your row.The best features are:-the hard board that zips in a separate compartment to keep the bottom from drooping-the leash strap that hooks the dog inside the bag to keep them from escaping-the crossbody strap-the bendy arches on top to accommodate under-seat space-the zippers that have hooks to keep them shut or only allow them to open 1.5” so the dog can’t wiggle their way out mid-flight!We ended up giving our bag to another dog owner at the airport once we returned home because we knew our puppy would be growing out of it and will probably not be on a flight again. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a travel bag!!

Love the carrier and hate Alaska Airlines
I purchased two bags, one large and one medium. We had no issues flying out of Seattle with Alaska Airlines. The flight attendants said they both fit great under the seats. We flew out of Las Vegas to get home and thanks to a supervisor who had some authority issue she just had to toss around and caused a fiasco. We have two French Bulldogs and the lady and another male supervisor caused undue stress and anxiety to us and the dogs. You can’t cause these dogs with flat faces anxiety. They caused their breathing to be laboured. Their ears were beet red and they were panting badly. They made my daughter take her dog out of his carrier and try to shove him into one of their carriers, that’s for a 10 lb dog. When they realized that he wasn’t going to fit in there, they made me take my dog out of her carrier and shove her into that little 10 lb carrier of theirs. My dog is 20 lbs and it was so tight, like another layer if skin. And then I had to put my daughters dog into my dogs carrier. It took over 30 minutes and we almost missed out plane. The male supervisor followed us and was trying to talk to my daughter, and my daughter kept telling him to go away and he wasn’t listening, so I had to yell at him in order to make him disappear. They did not care that Seattle airport okayed the carrier either. We still love the carrier! Just don’t fly with Alaska airlines and hey, they were supposed to be the most pet friendly, NOT!

Good product
I was looking for a carrier that can fit under the seat on the plane. I bought other brand earlier where the side expands to give more space, but then it was pretty stiff and felt I cannot squeeze that in although it said it will in the description. This one is really flexible and can squeeze down easily, but then it gives plenty of room inside. My pup is 33cm shoulder to toe when standing up (5.4kg), and she can easily stand and turn around inside this X-Large size . It does look pretty big, so am not sure what the impression the airline company will have. The size is not so different from XL to Large, so I might try buying the Large and give this one away. Overall I am satisfied with the product.
