EDGE Euro 5W-30 A3/B4 European Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil, 1 Quart, Pack of 6

I use this oil on my BMW as it confirms to BMW LL01 standards. I change my oil every 5k miles, just for added protection. The best oil is clean oil, so I keep my changed frequently. I also use OEM filters with it and have had great luck. I've used Castrol Edge in my wife's X3 since we bought it and it now has 170k miles with no issues. Beyond that, I used Edge on my old Acura TL, which I got rid of when it turned 293k miles. That's not a typo...nearly 300k miles and it didn't smoke or burn oil and the engine was original. That is a great endorsement for this oil in my view. The price is great and it provides good protection, so I'm very happy with it. I've run LiquiMoly in my M550i and it's great too, but it's double the cost and the car takes nearly 9.5 or 10 quarts, so io changes on it are a bit pricey. Overall, I'm definitely happy with Castrol Edge and recommend it. It's been good to me.

Using this in a 2022 G30 x-drive since first oil change. 45k now, changing every 5k miles with Mann filters. No plans to change, B58 is a great engine.

Got this high quality synthetic motor oil to break in my new but never used Wen W2000 generator. Working fine. Needed a decent quantity of oil because oil changes (11.7 to 12.8oz) recommended at 25hr of use, Also ordered some easy to apply hour meters for the new generator.

Fits BMW X5 well

Very good oil for not just euro cars, but older Asian and American vehicles like my 2005 Infiniti G35 that can run API SL spec oil. I noticed a significant reduction in valvetrain noise compared to regular API/ISLAC GF oils I trialed with before. The engine also feels more responsive and smooth at higher RPMs. Not all 5w30 are the same, this API SL/ACEA a3/b4 spec oil has a higher kinematic viscosity of 12.1 and a higher HTHS of 3.5 compared to API SP/ILSAC GF 6 oils which are thinner and suited for newer GDI engines. You can look find spec sheets on any oil manufacturers website to compare. This oil is a very good value for $25, the only gripe I have is the pour point is not the best at -36 Celsius so it does flow during cold starts in the frigid Chicago winters up here. I would switch to Castrol 0w30 or another 5w30 with the same specs but with a much better pour point of -40C or below like Liqui Moly or Redline oil.

I used it with no problems on my 2018 BMW 430i. I didn’t like the 0w-20 the dealership was using.

I have been using Castrol Edge for over ten years in my BMW and Mercedes vehicles. In my opinion, there is no equal. My engines run smooth and quiet with Castrol. While this oil will last up to 10,000 miles, I change it at 6,000 and use only high-quality oil filters like Mann or Wix. I'm also impressed with this Amazon seller. I actually received the product that matches the item's description in the listing, which in my case involving lubricants, doesn't always happen. Highly recommend this seller!
