Sanyo FWDV225F DVD/VCR Player With Line-In Recording

This was a wise purchase. The hookup was easy, my tapes and DVDs work perfectly. The instruction manual was easy to follow with all the information that I need to make it run well. I know that the cost was a little more than I wanted to pay; however, I am glad I purchased this model because it does a great job of playing old and new VCR tapes. I would recommend this player.

This recorder is a poor quality, even though it was advertised as excellent. It is very loud and cumbersome to use. The remote was old and dirty, and the cables are archaic. When a blank CD is put in (including the ones that came with the machine), it does not automatically format the disc, and in fact there’s a disk error that happens and the disc is no longer usable. The play quality is poor, and I’ve only been able to record a few movies from my collection. Those can only be played in this player and are not recognizable in any other DVD player. I do not recommend buying this product.

If you still have a collection of VHS tapes laying around, these DVD/VCR players are getting harder to find. While the tape player is getting hard to find, it's the DVD player is what usually gives trouble. This Sayno box is well made, well integrated and plays most DVDs without a problem. Of course, VHS plays as VHS should. Controls are well laid out, and easy to find.I have not tried recording.

So far, after a month or two, all is going fine. As every VHS player I've ever owned lasted only a year or two, I am optimistic this one will last longer.

A friend installed it for us & my husband & I have been finding it easy to use, performing well & giving us the pleasure of watching some of our favorite videos from a long time ago...the DVD player also performs well...are very glad we considered it for purchase

The VCR portion of this device has already broke and its not even a year old. DVD part is ok.

This dvd/vcr fits the old Sanyo tv that I have quite nicely. Works beautifully to play old turtle vhs tapes for my kids.

The machine did not work for a whole month. I called Sanyo, and they said they would send me a re-furbished one as a replacement. I am not happy with that resolution as I paid for a new machine.
