Q: how do you plug your vcr into computer ?

This device come with three RCA jacks- white, yellow, and red. You need to attach these connectors to your VCR via a separately purchased set of wires.. The wire is NOT included for this. Then the device itself plugs into a USB port.

Q: Does this work with Windows 10?

Yes, it does. I've been using it with Windows 10 and haven't ran in to any problems.

Q: Have an ancient tv/vcr combo. Will VHS to DVD 3 work in this situation?

For you to use this on an older TV, it would need to have A/V outputs on the back. Yellow is video, Red is right audio, White is either left audio or mono audio output. (Inputs on the front of a TV typically are INPUT only!) Stand alone VCRs will most likely have A/V input/output section along with a standard cable connection. This product will not work if all you have on your TV or VCR is a standard cable (threaded) output.

Q: Do you need to buy anything else to go with this or does it just hook right up into the VCR and Computer?

You need the standard cords that you use to connect the VCR to the TV. Other than that, the package contains the software you need and it works pretty good. It starts easy enough - turns itself off when the movie ends - and allows you to trim the dead time off the front and end of the movie before translating it. Good stuff.
