No the Wi-Fi is only needed so you can unlock your door through your phone if you don’t have Wi-Fi you can still use your fingerprint because his battery powered or use your Key

I’ve never had that issue. Make sure firmware is up to date. If that’s not the issue maybe the unit is bad. Call customer support.

No. Required door thickness is 1.75" to 2.00" The fitment of the bolt and mechanism is the same as a conventional deadbolt.

I have not done it however you can configure it to match any Kwikset key.
