Zoom PodTrak P8 - The Ultimate Game-Changer for Podcast Production!
The Zoom PodTrak P8 has revolutionized my podcast production process. It's a feature-packed podcast recorder that blends superb audio quality, intuitive design, and portability into a device that is accessible for both beginners and seasoned professionals. The first thing that stands out is the sheer audio quality this recorder delivers. With six microphone inputs, it allows for clear and high-quality recording of multiple voices simultaneously. The preamps are incredibly clean, and the noise floor is impressively low, ensuring that your recordings are crisp and free from unwanted noise. The six headphone outputs are another noteworthy feature. This allows each guest to monitor their audio levels comfortably, which is especially useful during a multi-guest podcast recording. The individual volume controls are a thoughtful touch, allowing for a personalized listening experience for each participant. One of my favorite features is the color touchscreen interface. It's clear, responsive, and simplifies navigating the P8's myriad of options. This feature, coupled with the dedicated controls for each channel, makes the operation of this recorder remarkably intuitive, even for those new to podcasting. The unit's portability is another key advantage. Its compact size and the option to power it with AA batteries make the PodTrak P8 an excellent choice for on-the-go podcasters who often record outside of a traditional studio setting. Moreover, the build quality is solid, and the overall design is sleek and modern. It feels robust and durable enough to withstand the rigors of regular use. Also, the integrated sound pads for music or sound effects are a fantastic addition that can truly elevate your podcast's production quality.Given its professional-level features, robust build, and ease-of-use, the PodTrak P8 offers excellent value for money. Whether you're a seasoned podcaster or just starting, this device will undoubtedly enhance your production process and the overall quality of your podcasts.

Best in Class
The recent price drop has moved this unit ahead of its main competitors, the Tascam Mixcast and the Rodecaster Pro. I've used all three.Almost anyone is going to be able to operate this mixer right out of the box without consulting a manual. Tap a channel on the touch screen and every setting for that channel is at your fingertips. Mix minus ensures no feedback from podcast guests on the phone or through Zoom or other online service. You have the option to record separate tracks for each channel on the internal SD card (not included.) One guest a little lower than the others? Fix it in the mix.Attention, play-by-play broadcasters, this is the ultimate live game broadcast mixer. It can be USB bus powered. Connect it to your laptop and you don't need AC power. The built-in compression and limiting means you can crank up the crowd mic and it won't drown you out.Record the game on the SD card. Use the track mark function to mark your highlights. At the end of the game, use the built-in editing function to save your highlights as new files and assign them to button bars. One touch highlights in the post-game show and leave your external recorded at home! Unless they've updated, the Mixcast does not allow you to play internally recorded audio through the mixer.Connect your cell phone and you could do a post-game call-in show. This is a fantastic product! Gator sells a soft case that fits it beautifully for under 40 bucks. One tiny complaint. For 300 bucks, you should throw in an SD card.

Mobile Podcast Station
This thing is awesome... I started a podcast and had those Yeti USB mics... Needed an upgrade and needed to have at least 4 mics... This thing is easy to use and has more than I need as a newbie in the Podcast world... As far as using it with a phone, you can adjust and the play back sounds as if they are in the same room as you... Just get it... Worth every penny.

May be a better unit at half the price.
I have been using in a mobile setting for last four months with no issues. I protect it with a CASEMATIX Mixer Hard Shell Travel Case. It's light. It's very very intuitive to use. I never had color coded channels/outputs/indicators before, now I don't want to work with anything else. Everything about it works like its supposed to. Making adjustments on various inputs to get better sound quality is easy. The digital sound effects are easy to add and assign. This should be your first choice if you are coming into podcasting and need to integrate more than two inputs. I can handle four commentators, a microphone collecting ambiance, audio from the computer, someone calling my phone (using the Zoom BTA-2) and play sound with no stress at all. This would be a nightmare on almost any small mixer.
