I gave the ashtrays only four stars because they are extremely small. They look so much bigger in the pictures than they actually are. I didn't read the dimensions and went with the way they were portrayed in the pictures, so it is partly my own fault. Other than that they do what they promise. They hide the unsightly cigarette butts and look very pretty. I bought two white and blue ones for the porch and one red one for the gazebo. Works perfectly with the decor so I'm happy.An update. After using the ashtrays for a year or so I am happy to report that they hold about 2 packs worth of cigarette butts so they are not as small as I initially thought. They are very pretty, well made, and sturdy as well. There are a lot of questions about whether they can withstand the wind and I'm happy to report that they do extremely well. We get extremely strong Santa Ana winds where we live and they don't budge an inch. I give it a full five stars and am extremely happy with the three I purchased. I highly recommend them.

The ashtray is beautiful and convenient. It is slightly larger than other similar ash trays on here. If I were to buy another, I would definitely get another of these. So much better than an open ashtray. Unless you are leaving it out in the open, the lid keeps everything relatively dry (unless a blowing rain works its way in.) Highly recommended.

I use this ashtray indoor only, I love how elegant it is, looks more like a potpourri pot.

Overall good quality, but I docked a star for the lack of size in the description and slightly deceptive photos. It just says "bigger" so I took a chance based on the pictures provided and one of the answers which says 7 inches around (don't know what he was talking about). It's 5 inches in diameter. I would have gone with something slightly larger had I known, but it's nice enough to keep.FYI the black doesn't have a glossy surface like the colors. It looks like a tiny cauldron. Since my intention was for it to be less noticeable until needed it's just right for that purpose. Tucks away like a classy little chameleon.

I purchased this for our veranda in Florida. It is well made and looks nice, not like a typical ashtray. I especially like how heavy it is, and that it comes with a lid. Will keep it in place and contents dry during most storms and windy conditions here. Arrived very well packaged to avoid any breakage in transit, as it is ceramic.

We don't smoke but have friends who do. I have a smoking area on our deck equipped with this stylish looking ashtray. It's less offensive. No more ashes blowing around after someone smokes. Just put the lid on it and walk away. I am going to another one for our lower deck. Easy to clean, dump and wipe.

Für mich als absoluten Nichtraucher mit regelmäßigem Besuch, der raucht - musste unbedingt eine Alternative zu diesem für mich sehr unangenehmen Aschenbechern her! Klar, nicht ganz günstig, vorallem nicht für Zigarettendreck für mich als absoluten Rauchgegner, aber wenigstens sieht es jetzt wunderschön aus und der Deckel lässt sich schließen! Tolle Optik!
