Good enogh ment to use for
This ruler is good for most tasks but precision metalwork. As you can see on pictures - it is about 0.3 -0.5 mm off(longer). Does it really matter about 1/64 - 1/128 inches off?Yes, edges are kind of sharp. It will take couple of minutes of gentle file work to take care of hangnail. It is not stainless steel. But you know that stainless steel do not hard enough for measurement tool.It is about 1.6 - 1.7 mm thick. So it is pretty sturdy.Make it short - it is value for money. Do not flatter yourself to buy dollar for a penny.

Heavy duty, very well made
I know it's "only" a ruler but this one is made from thick steel for maximum durability with excellent markings. Much better than the cheap ones you see at Target or Office Depot. You get what you pay for.

Hard to find features & length
The media could not be loaded. I had to search for longer than I should have to find myself an 18 inch, thick steel straight edge ruler at an affordable price. The Pacific Arc brand ticked all my boxes.First off, I want to correct some of the information you may be reading about these steel rulers. Several people talk about them having sharp edges, but the one I received does not - see my attached video. The edges on it are perfect, they are flat and crisp, but not sharp.Secondly, there is some doubt that these are stainless steel as advertised. I can't say for sure, but it looks and feels like stainless steel to me. The sleeve says it's stainless steel also, but the "hardened stainless" tag etched on the ruler shown in the ad photo do not appear on mine. I tested it with a magnet, and the magnet did stick quite well. Of course, that doesn't mean it's not stainless because certain stainless steels will attract a magnet. What also does not appear on mine is the made in China tag. In fact, on the sleeve it says made in the USA!Lastly, you will see several people talking about it being flexible - it is not what I would call flexible. Do not expect to measure curved objects with it. This is a 16th of an inch piece of hard steel. Sure you can get a slight bend out of it if you tried, but that doesn't mean it is flexible in my book. This ruler includes seven different etched measurement graduations: inches, 1/8", 1/16", 1/32", 1/64", CM, & MM. The included conversion table on the back is very handy as well. The markings don't necessarily look etched at first, but if you run your fingernail across them you can feel the edges, or divots, as opposed to running it across the smooth non-marked part of the ruler.Since I am mainly using this as a straight edge it was very important to me that all six edges were completely flat. When I tested each edge against a known flat edge with a light source behind I could not see any light peeking through, so yeah it's all perfectly flat. You can measure objects right from the edge of this ruler, but it's not machinist accurate. According to my calculations it is about .015", or 15 thousands, too long at the zero edge. You can almost visually see this with the naked eye - see my close up pic of the edge. I also laid my digital caliper from the 0 to the 4 inch mark and you can see the .015 discrepancy. This is such a minor point to most of us, but if you need more accuracy then that you need to look elsewhere. For my purposes this is a great straight edge ruler. I highly recommend it.

Excellent Ruler
Quality built with good durability

Heavy weight.
Did not use my calipers on it but I would say it is more than a 1/16 & less than 1/8, so 3/32 or so. Nice rule. I would have given 5 stars if it would have been packaged in such a way to protect. Sure shippers should know that the mail service is like a war zone. It arrived bent in several places. I draft projects with these so it is frustrating if I have to hold it down straight. I was able to get it fairly straight. It was simply in a bag, completely unprotected. Great product but poor packaging. It needed to be in a hard cardboard tube. I realize that would drive the price up some. I for one don't mind paying more for a quality product. It's frustrating to wait for something then it's damaged when it gets here. I could have sent it back, but I needed this now. Truly great product but I would not recommend based on the lack of protection.

Small convenient size
I bought this to use in a planner/calendar. It’s a perfect fit in the pouch inside this planner. It’s durable as well.

Now I Feel Like a Real Chef
I watch America’s Test Kitchen a lot and they’re always using a ruler like to measure everything. I’m a precise kind of person and I just had to have one of these and I use it all the time. Before I’d pull out my tape measure or my automatic one I use for house projects but now I feel like a pro (and I am pretty bad a**) and I now have everything in my kitchen.
