Basco Deluxe Framed Sliding Tub Door, Fits 56-59 inch Opening, Clear Glass, Silver Finish

Easy to install took maybe 3 hours but I've never done something like this before so I took my time. It's been a few months now and they still look great.

Much less expensive than hiring a glass company to provide and install. Looks and works great. I replaced the towel bars with small cabinet knobs from Home Depot. Make sure to measure the plumb and level of the tub and order shims from the manufacturer Basco if needed.

Basco has some fine things going for them.The metal finishes are stunningly beautiful.Their most potential damage is during handling/install; so keep that in mind. Strong when installed but fragile as components.Also see below for when cutting.The instructions are extremely well put together with obvious continuous improvements; keep it up!Excellent folks at Customer Service for top-notch support!Also, parts available (free shipping!) at your local Lowe's or Home Depot; nice.Here goes:The "Basco" sticker on header is crooked...The angled slots for rollers was not cut out clean, so I could not use adjustment option without doing my own metal-filing...After installation, you must forever be gentle opening/closing doors; if you even slightly slam 1, the door can hop off the track and you will have to take it completely apart to re-hang.This caution will apply to time indefinite; so open/close slowly!Install tips:If you are cutting threshold or header with high-speed, protect finished side from splatter; the thin finish will get destroyed. Use masking tape or guards.Tighten every screw by hand!Like the instructions warns, you can destroy some of the components, especially plastic or acrylic.Power-drill side jambs into place, but only if you know what you are doing.Continuous improvement suggestion (in addition to quality issues addressed above):Jamb bumpers should have screwdriver hole to screw through rubber so you can tighten down after it's in place. Presently it's loosely attached and can slide (up) out of place. Then no spacer needed, which is inefficient anyways.Thank you Basco for your fine products; continue continuous improvements!

With a little help from a neighbor who had a miter saw, and some ceramic drill bits I bought for the job, this thing assembled pretty nicely. Took me a few hours to put together, but the instructions weren't hard to follow. All turned out better than I expected for it being my first time putting something together like this. I even messed up and secured both outside support beams before putting the top on, so I carefully trimmed the T section sticking up on one side so I could pop the top rail over it without trying to take a side back off. I also had to bend a corner of the aluminum sticking up for the rollers that was bent during shipping, but it seems to have worked out fine (just had to be very careful and slow with my pliers).

Very well packed. Fairly easy to install. Hardest part was folding down the bottom of the uprights at the bottom to fit the curve of the fiberglass tub. Make sure you have a good metal file. One other hint - don’t completely fasten both uprights until you slip the top rail over the upright. This was not very clear in the instructions. Other than that if you take your time the installation should be fairly straightforward. Nice product at a fair price.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered frame glass shower tub doors because of the issue on exploding glass for semi-frameless and frameless. This shower-tub doors arrived quickly. That was the good part. Aside from the fact that the glass panel doors were filthy .....I can bypass that. The installation process was a little bit tedious because to cut extruded alluminum is a real pain, then you have to file it to remove the sharp edges.The worse part was the shower frame I ordered in color Brushed Nickel came in Goldish and the doors in Brush Nickel. I now have a shower with two different colors. At first we thought it was the same color with a slight light variation due to my lightning. But when we put it up (the bathroom is very bright so this is a very noticeble issue) you could see the difference. I did not want to send the doors (frame) back, repacking it and taking it to the Amazon UPS because I also needed to finish the bathroom. It seemed like we were sent two different colors or a variation of the brushed nickel ?? I am very disappointed because this is a US company and the doors were not cheap either so for $334 I do not think it is acceptable. Other the the color variation they look nice in the clear glass version.Please see video.

The instructions are very poor. The instructions I got with this order looks like they ran out of ink because only half of the words were printed.The rollers that hold the shower doors on the glide do not work properly. You must tighten them to hold the position of the door so it is square, but they will not stay tight. If you tighten them too much, the rollers will not move. A lousy piece of product design. If there are options to purchase another brand, you will be glad you did. This product deserves a 1 star rating.
