BREEDERS (1986) is the tawdry tale of randy alien lifeforms, in search of women who are suitable to their... needs. Detective Dale Andriotti (Lance Lewman) is on the case, looking into the strange circumstances surrounding a series of rapes. Dr. Gamble Pace (Teresa Farley) joins him in his quest for clues. It's obvious within seconds that the focus of this film is mostly on the naked female anatomy. A certain solo, disco-dance routine is exhibit A! This happens after a ridiculous photo shoot, where the model, wearing various swimsuits, displays her gargantuan tan lines like there's no tomorrow! We soon realize that male humans are being used in disgusting, gory ways, somehow releasing the oozing, insect-like, extraterrestrial inseminators to do their thing. At this same time, a nurse quickly strips in her kitchen, standing there, like she's waiting for a bus! In no time flat, her visiting boyfriend is dead, and the nurse is bug fodder! That's pretty much what goes on throughout this breathtaking, cinematic orgy of goo. Can Andriotti and Pace get to the bottom of this awfulness, before women are bringing forth little alien abominations, all over town? With few exceptions, the thespians in BREEDERS must have received their training from a correspondence school. It's like watching furniture trying to act "alive"! WATCH: For the stupendous, milky, slimy bath in the basement finale! It is rivaled only by the marshmallow cream sequence in INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS! It's as awe-inspiring as it is idiotic! Huzzah! Once you've witnessed this movie, you'll wonder if mankind can possibly avoid extinction for another century (decade?... Year?... Five minutes??)... EXTRA POINTS: For the cockeyed alien offspring and its sideways mouth! Wow!...

Low budget and exploitive, this 80s trash film is for fans of B movie exploitation. The simple story is about evil aliens that conceal themselves inside people and rape and breed with women. It isn't scary and there isn't much suspense. It also lacks interesting scenery, atmosphere, and character development. This isn't an action packed monster movie; if you want a lot of action, you might be disappointed. The movie is mainly for fans of 70s and 80s exploitation, as it has a nice retro film style. There's full nudity during a lengthy scene where a woman exercises fully in the nude, and there's other nude scenes that have topless and rear nudity. The gore in the film, despite being low budget, is sometimes gruesome and effective. There's some good FX work here for a cheap film. The scenes where the creatures emerge from inside the bodies is well done for the films budget. This movie isn't meant to be analyzed, so don't buy it if you want a well directed film. As for the pace, it moves decently throughout; even though some people might get bored in parts because there really isn't much interesting stuff happening in between the gore and nudity. So with gore, nudity, slime, some good soundtracks, and a simple story, this might appeal to many who just want exploitation and aren't going to analyze this like a film critic. What's also interesting is that I've read that the director of this film actually became a gay porn director. With all the female nudity on display, it isn't something that most people would think of.The quality on the DVD is excellent. The picture is sharp, and the color, contrast and brightness look fine.

And the Oscar goes to : Teresa Farley for the most wooden performance by a lead actress inin a ridiculous movie. Honestly, it looks like her pretty face is frozen in a mask of indifference forthe whole movie !! At the very end, she fake-cries, and that's the most her face moves in the wholething.Anyway, it's about an alien spore that impregnates virgins so it can take over out world. Of course.There's a lot of skin in this, which is it's whole reason for being. Tit and asses abound.Everyone looks like they're reading their lines from a card that's just off-screen.You might get a kick out of how un-believably poor this is.Like somebody else said, you'll like this if you're a 14 year old boy and wanna see naked girls.

Well, it's because I like this movie. I know it's poorly acted, silly story line and slimy monster but sometimes I like that and this movie has all those things. And does anyone not realize what the scene with the women bathing nude in the gooey creamy stuff really symbolizes? Just good old alien monster fun under the streets of NY City. The BR version is pretty good too considering the low budget type of film this is. And the gooey stuff...well I just had to mention that again. Enjoy.

Frankly, it is amazing the unmitigated garbage that we watched as 12-year olds in order to get a chance to view lady parts.

They deliver on the R rating, but as for story and cinematography, a c-class movie. Best if you're fourteen. (don't tell mom)

if you wanted a movie that made women had men, this is it.

This is another prime example of what made the eighties great, certainly in terms of the films being made during that phenomenal era. Of course, this was long before all this political correctness crap, feminism and so forth ruined it, and a time when there were no rules and film makers had fun. There was only basic tools and minimal money to play with, but it forced them to use their imaginations and that made it all so much better. Breeders is a perfect example of all of this.The plot is basically a simple one, an alien is on earth and is breeding itself with young virgin women and it's mostly set in a hospital; hence, plenty of special effects, a weird alien creature, with similarities to other films obviously, then again, everything has similarities to everything else, in this case, Alien perhaps. Also, plenty of nudity, including scenes with young women walking around naked, (similarities there to another classic 80s sci fi horror Lifeforce), and a pretty cool ending. I have read a few reviews of this talking about the wooden acting and the gratuitous nudity, but they are missing the point completely. It's never about the acting or about the production's quality, and sex and nudity has sold films throughout history, since the dawn of cinema, and in the eighties, it was particularly so, since no one was laying down any rules to stop them and the main point is, they were having FUN and no one is really going to complain about female nudity in films. In all honesty, the whole purpose of these films during this magical era, was about the love of making films itself, the enjoyment of the process. These films might have had small budgets and the actors and actresses in them might have been paid small amounts, but that was evened out by the fun they had in making these films. It also made their names and they might have gone on to other things afterwards. The point there is they made films which got released to a respectable audience and can be enjoyed to this day. The music is also really decent by the way. My guess is that this is one of many films possibly, even out now on blu ray which are out there. I hope to find most of them if I can, because nothing frankly beats the greatest era in the history of horror/sci/fantasy, the 80s.Many of the films I have on blu ray are 80s classics which have found a release on this amazing hi def format, since all they are are hi def dvds, but the films that have been released on blu ray still boggle the mind even now. 80s horror/sci fi is possibly the genre that has benefited the most and it has given these classics a true home and opened them up to an audience who will never know what it was like to grow up in the golden age of sci/fi low budget horror film making. Breeders is now a proud addition to the growing collection.A word too about the director of this film. I had never really heard the name Tim Kincaid, but maybe was vaguely aware, but he has apparently made some great stuff, and his best is probably Breeders, although I cannot say, since I have never seen his other films. All I can say is well done Tim Kincaid for making this film and for sharing such a piece of pure eighties fun.If you like shlocky, over the top, science fiction horror and lots of beautiful young women in the nude, you could do a lot worse than treat yourself to this. It's fun.

This is a classic 80's cheesy horror about an alien life force that has come to earth to mate with virgin women to breed more of its own species! The acting is pretty cheesy but its supposed to be i think, its low budget and has a man in a suit alien which is ok as its kept in the dark most of the time, there are some cool bloody gore effects that are done quite well, the best thing about the movie is the huge amounts of female nudity! If you like these types of 80's movies then get it otherwise you wont like it.

This film is one of the worst quality sci-fi films I've ever watched and I defo paid too much for it! Why 4*? Well the willingness of the very attractive girls to take all their clothes off at any opportunity is the answer, otherwise it would be 1*. The story, acting and special effects are terrible. Was there a budget of any sort?

Un film de série b sympathoche, pas de quoi casser des briques non plus. Toute la première demi-heure est assez divertissante mais la dernière partie traîne un peu en longueur (dommage pour un film de 1h14) car les personnages semblent soudainement devenu 2 de tension, sûrement sous anxiolytique , face à des métamorphoses peu ragoûtantes et également longues, devant lesquelles ils restent immobiles et peu réactifs, de toute évidence le flic et la toubib n'ont pas compris qu'ils n'étaient pas dans un Terence Malik mais dans un film ( censé être ) d'action. Un combat final donc un peu décevant , un suspense à réviser et une fin pas très clair . Heureusement le film se rattrape par de magnifiques actrices finissant dans leur plus simple appareil, à savoir nues, face au monstre libidineux, rappelant sans équivoque le classique Alien de H.R. Giger, quand à ladite créature, elle s'apparente a un humanoïde caoutchouteux noir , pas trop mal foutu, dont la tête rappelle aussi la Mouche Noire. En somme, pas le film d'extraterrestre de l'année, loin derrières les sagas Aliens, Predators ou La Mutante, mais un bon film popcorn pour une soirée entre potes, sans fille de préférence !
