Great for potted plants
I picked this up after struggling with a number of other solutions. I have a few potted cacti and other succulents which require very good drainage lest you overwater the plants. Originally, I tried using a layer of small stones at the bottom of the pot, however, some of the stones would fall through the drainage hole on the bottom of the pot after a couple of waterings defeating the point of the stones.I found these screens while searching for other gardening tools and decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, it is very effective especially when paired with gravel to keep the screen in place. The screens are small--about2" in diameter so be sure to hold it in place while you add gravel or your growing media otherwise it may slide over and uncover the drainage hole.Overall, it's a simple and cheap solution for drainage if you have lots of plants that need repotting. I would recommend these screens.

Reusable, Good Price & Be Mindful of size
Pros: Durable material and a small grid work that effectively prevents perlite, dirt, etc. from falling out of the drainage holes. It doesn't degrade which allows you to reuse it over and over again, essentially preventing you from having to buy more and more over time.Cons (and how to navigate them): A downside of the fine grid work is that it could cause even slower drainage if you already have your plant potted in a poor draining soil. This could be an issue for some, so make sure you also have the right kind of soil that allows proper drainage. Also, they are small so you may need to use a few for larger pots since some drainage holes are spaced out around the bottom.Overall, a good thing for a plant parent to have on hand.

Works great for houseplants
Wanted an alternative to filling the bottom of the pot with rocks. As long as you have well draining soil this is a great solution

A Must-Have to Avoid Soil Spillage with Houseplants!
I am fairly new to having houseplants and recently repotted all my houseplants into terracotta for the colder months. Unfortunately, when I checked the pot drainage, they were relatively large and the soil kept spilling out the bottom and making a mess everywhere! You can only vacuum and sweep soil off the floor so many times before you say enough is enough! I purchased these in hopes that they would keep the soil in but still allow for proper water drainage. These are fantastic and easy to install! I like how you get a lot in a pack because sometimes I've lost some of the covers in the old soil when repotting a plant (oops!). Would highly recommend giving them a try!***A warning for newer plant parents; these things are called death plugs in the plant community for a reason! If you put these in for a long time and let your plants become very root bound, it may cause damage to your plants or just kill them entirely because they can't absorb water/nutrients with the mesh pads in the way! As long as you are attentive, repot your plants when they start to outgrow the plant and TAKE THE MESS PAD OUT when repotting then you should have no problems with the health of your plants!
