Vetenerian Recommended this product to me Couldn't BE HAPPIER. !!!
I am a Dog Trainer...I have an 8 year old and a 2.5 year old border collies that get along very well with each other. And Yes.. even as a trainer.. My 2.5 year old is fear reactive towards other dogs, and I wasn't able to bring my foster's into the same room with my 2.5 year old or take her places on account of her reactions towards other dogs and sometimes people, this never stopped me from trying to socialize her more and help her cope. I recently adopted another puppy hoping to start out with a younger dog to work on training her to be less reactive. When I took my puppy to the vet for her shots, I discussed with my vet about putting my 2.5 year old on Prozac to help with coping and training. Which I was not to keen on a mind altering drug such a Prozac. My Vet told me about Zylkene and that it is non-prescription, non mind altering and is a natural supplement that contains the same ingredients as mother's milk. Which has a calming effect on dogs. She recommended it for dogs with separation anxiety, fear of thunderstorms and anxiety with car rides etc... So I purchased a bottle from my vet and gave 1 capsule to my 2.5 year old BC. By evening my husband is calling me to see the 2.5 year old and my 12 week old romping, jumping and playing with each other in the yard. I was ecstatic... and almost in tears... she has been on them for 2 weeks every morning with her meals along with training. Her and my puppy or the best of buddies, non-stop playing, sleeping together, and sharing toys. My recent foster was so nervous on car rides and I had to take her to 2 meet and greets. Getting her in and out of the car was a battle. So I decided to try one on her. She did amazing, jumping in and out of the car on her own, no shaking, panting or whining. Dogs that are scared in a car will not take treats and actually eat them. She was mooching as many treats from me as she could, and eating them. I told the Foster group that I work with about Zylkene, and several of them have purchased this product to use during transporting from rescue to foster homes or when we transport fosters to their new homes. I am recommending this to client's, rescues, and friends for their own dogs. This works really well and along with proper training, this does not have to be a life long supplement for your dog.

Miracle for my anxious dog. And I don't say that lightly.
This stuff works MIRACLES for my 2 year old cocker spaniel mix. She's a sweet dog, but very anxious (obsessive, roams around the house whining for unknown reasons, barks when trash bag settles and makes a noise). Seriously felt badly for her. Exercise and keeping her busy wasn't enough to snap her out of those obsessive moods. Vet recommended these capsules and within days, she calmed down significantly (though I admit I was very skeptical, hesitant to attribute the improvement on the pills). I've been giving her one capsule every night before bed for 2 months, and our sweet Olivia is back! She lays on her back for belly rubs, plays with the other house dogs happily, watches our pet bird without losing her mind. Sadly, I lost track and ran out of pills She's been without the pills for a few days for the first time since we started. She is back to obsessing, whining, running around the house aimlessly, trying to crawl up the brick fireplace to get at the birdcage, jumpy when we reach out to pet her, etc. She's never been aggressive (thank goodness), but very sad to see her so on edge! I ordered another bottle as soon as I ran out, but they aren't here yet. I can't wait for them to arrive so I can get this girl back on her meds! And if I can put this on auto-ship, I will DEFINITELY be doing that. I can't let her run out again. The difference is night and day. Skeptic no more. I'm sure this stuff doesn't work for everyone, but if your dog is suffering, this is worth a shot. BTW, the powder inside the capsules tastes HORRIBLE (yeah I tasted it, don't judge)... and there is a lot of it packed into the capsules. So although technically you CAN sprinkle the contents onto/into something if your dog doesn't love taking pills, keep in mind the taste is potent. My dog won't touch it mixed in anything, and if she chews the capsule and it breaks, she quickly spits it out (I was wrapping them in pill masking paste - it worked for a while - now she runs away when she sees the paste). I have to use a pill shooter to get them in her now. TL;DR: Miracle for my anxious dog.

CALMS MY DOGS NERVES
Zylkene capsules seem to be working really well, my dog is nervous anytime we go out of her comfort zone of our house or car. I give one of these capsules with her breakfast every morning, and it does seem to help all day. It is made to feed as a supplement, and there is no vet prescription needed. It is a little on the expensive side for a Calming aid for you pet, but if it helps, it is well worth every penny. My vet told me about it, so thought is was worth the try. It does seem to calm my dogs nerves!

Expensive and doesn’t work as well as it should
I think the effectiveness really depends on now severe your dogs anxiety is. My dog was older with health issues so her anxiety was about as bad as it could get and she had to take a high dose (vet recommended) for this to have any effect. They are extremely expensive especially if your dog is taking more than 1 pill a day. The lack of effectiveness plus the price doesn’t make these worth it.

VERY expensive. Didn’t work on my dog
This is highly expensive and it did absolutely nothing with my dog. I have a 3 year old Golden Retriever who suffers from bad anxiety, especially when it comes to leash reactivity, separation anxiety and barking to any noise coming from outside the house. I have tried Adaptil, Solliquin and Rescue Remedy. The Adaptil worked very good on the barking to noises but only the first one or two months, the stopped working. I had to stop using it because it was making him very territorial in the house. It went back to normal after I stopped it. The Solliquin helped a little bit with the separation anxiety the first two or three months, but only a little bit and especially if I gave it to him with some bach flowers too. The Back flowers are amazing, is the only thing I’ve tried that really works for his separation anxiety. I have to give him the drops 1 or 2 hours before leaving. It also works very well to avoid barking at outside noises. The leash reactivity is the only issue when the drops are simple not enough. Still working on that one. The reason I don’t use it more regularly is because it makes him feel sleepy and I don’t like to make him feel like that every day, I wouldn’t like it if you ask me! The Zylkene was recommended by his trainer and his vet, so we decided to give it a try even though it is extremely expensive. Well, it did nothing! Zero! He’s been taking it for a month now and I don’t see even a tiny improvement. Plus. I’ve been checking the price on this item during this whole month he has been taking it and the price changes almost every day! I don’t know why they do that but it is definitely not serious.

Worth every penny to have a calmer, less anxious dog
This product was a last ditch attempt in a long line of attempts to help our 6 year old rescue Catahoula to calm down and not be so reactive to . . . .well. . . everything. Living in the a city neighborhood he reacted to cars driving by, people walking through, mailmen, delivery men, the cat, thunder, lightening, fireworks, loud noises, the neighbor and on top of it all he had separation anxiety. Giving him time to adapt to a new environment helped. Hand feeding and structure helped. Exercise helped. Bringing him with us helped. But he still just couldn't settle completely. In anxiety he had attacked other dogs, tore down our curtains, tried to scratch through a door, pulled me out of a chair while I was holding him, and, to top it off, broke off his canine tooth trying to get out of his kennel. We had tried Composure, DAP, Rescue Remedy, Calming Remedy, Lavender essential oil diffused in addition to some behavior modification tricks. Nothing really helped. It took the edge off a bit but he was still giving US anxiety to decide -- take him with us? leave him at home? Either decision had it's own issues. And in the summer we can't leave him in the car, but we can't bring him out of the car often because he was reacting so badly to other dogs if they got too close. It was giving us anxiety to have this dog. Trying this was a last ditch effort. We had made a commitment to this dog and we wanted to give all our effort to it. I was skeptical that this would work and it was expensive. But if it did work... . miracle! It did work. He is not a dog I would take to the dog park but his reactivity has decreased significantly. We can talk him off the freak outs at the neighborhood noises much quicker and he listens. (Well other than the mailman. . . he still has issues with him). He is less reactive to other dogs and we can enjoy him more and bring him with us more often. Thunderstorms are less of an issue (and we don't buy into his drama and let him work it out so we don't re-enforce the behavior). We will see how he does with fireworks this summer but hopefully it will be less traumatic than last summer. It may not work for all dogs but it for sure worked for ours. Worth every penny to have a less stressed and less stressful dog.

Worked on my last 3 German Shepherds
I’ve use this product on my last 3 German Shepherds with great results. It really takes the edge off and my dogs have been so much happier on it. They listen better and mine was relaxed getting his nails trimmed at the vet yesterday. I was thrilled! Some days I also use calming treats in addition to the Zylkene if I need my almost 1 year old to settle down around company. It’s all about using layers of calming supplements. It all depends on your dog’s anxiety level. Worth the cost for peace of mind!

Excellent product for anxious dogs
I've tried a ton of supplements to help my young border collie with her anxiety including various natural products, vitamin B1 based supplements, pheromone sprays and heavier drugs like valium and Phenobarbital, but so far, this is the only thing that has helped her. She's got a very sensitive and moody nature and anything not being quite right can set her off and turn her into a shivering mess. I thought about getting her anti-depressants, but thought I'd try this out first, and low and behold, it worked. This seems to take the edge off things so that she could think and focus on me so we could work through things instead of her fixating on something that bothers her and allowing it to send her into a state where she freezes and shakes or runs and hides. I've never had a dog like this before--that was so bothered by something simple like other dogs looking at her while we practice agility, or the sound of someone shouting out commands to their dog as they run the course (and we're not talking loud, mean shouting--we're talking shouting the commands loud enough so that their dog can hear them from across the arena). Other things like planes flying overhead, far away construction sounds, car doors shutting, a plastic bag blowing across a parking lot--they all had her tucking her tail and looking for an escape route in spite of daily work to try to give her confidence. We were able to compete in our first agility trial in October thanks to this product. I was concerned that we'd never be able to compete since the environment of an agility trial can be quite loud and very intense. As we walked to the line on our first run, I was half afraid she'd quit and slink out of the arena, but she didn't. She saw the equipment in front of her, and she knew what she was there to do. She was able to tune out the other sounds, and she ran faster and better than she ever has in a practice for me. Mind you, none of them were perfect runs, but I was so proud of her for making it over the line and not spooking at the judge in the ring, or the bar setters, or the "Go" sounds or buzzers or other dogs barking in the background. That's a real testament to the quality of this product. I started giving this to her about a month in advance of the trial and every day she got a little better and a little more secure. She needed that space and peace to be able to shut down the habitual thought patterns that were keeping her mired in fear. I'm so glad we found this product.
