British Berkefeld Doulton 8674 Ultra Sterasyl Ceramic Filter Candle for Countertop Gravity Water Filter System Short Mount 7" - 4 Pack

These are the handmade ones from the UK, ceramic with a carbon core. They fit perfectly in my Berkey gravity filter. Our rural water smells like bleach most of the time, but when it's filtered through these candles, it doesn't smell at all, and tastes so much better. Flow through time is good, especially since our water is low on particulates. The filters can be cleaned too, with a green abrasive kitchen pad ( no soap, use a new pad), if particulates slow down the flow. They're simple to install, just a rubber washer and a plastic wing nut. Each candle is rated for 13,000 gallons, so they last a LONG time! They are a great value for the money.

Using for my Sertodo Copper water system & they work great. Easy to install & water tastes amazing. When changing out you can really see the discoloration & how well the filter has been working compared to the new white one. Kind of crazy to see, but makes me feel confident my LA water is being filtered properly.

This was the only manufacturer that I could find the actual test results for the actual product available online. Easy to install, but don't wait for an emergency to start using them. Like any other similar unit, you need to run two cycles of water through before drinking. These priming cycles are very slow, as the filters absorb water, and "come to life". But don't panic...after that, you're good to go at a normal gravity-feed rate. I'm VERY happy to have found these.

We use these everyday

Replaced aging Berkey filters with these and seem to be doing great. They will filter quite slowly for the first 10 gallons or so. After that, they work well. Water tastes great.

We just purchased our second set of these for our Berkey. The first set worked great. We just put in the 2nd set and 5 hours later they have only filtered an inch of water. We just wasted over $80 on filters that don’t filter. They are slowing down and barely dripping.
