Effective solution after trying everything else
I’ve been using this for about 3-4 months, and it’s the only product that actually worked after trying so many others that didn’t help. I had seen this product before but was hesitant to try it. It wasn’t until my vet specifically recommended it that I finally gave it a chance, and I’m glad I did. It took a few days — maybe about a week — before I saw results, but once it kicked in, it made a noticeable difference. In the beginning, I tried stopping it to see if the habit was gone, and my dog went right back to eating her poop. As soon as I started the product again, she stopped. I’ve now been able to discontinue it completely, and she hasn’t gone back to the behavior. I still keep some on hand just in case, but so far, so good. I didn’t have any issues getting her to eat it. I just mixed it with her kibble, and she ate it without a problem. Overall, this worked exactly the way I needed it to. It took a little time to see results, but it did the job when everything else failed. I’d recommend trying it if you’re dealing with the same issue.

Doesn’t work!!!
Do not use!!!! This makes your dog taste this and exude the smell out the mouth all day after they consume it. I feel horrible for every dog tasting this horrific taste all day bc of this. We will never give it to our dog again. Not to mention that it is utterly ineffective at keeping them from eating poop when they already taste the taste the poop all day. Doesn’t work and is cruel!!!

Didn't Work For Us
To be fair, they state it won't work if it's a behavioral issue. We got zero results. Pros: Our dog had no side effects & ate For-Bid twice a day for 2 weeks. Cons: Cost. Pouches are foil-lined paper so you have to fold the top & reuse them several times for a small dog.

Does the job
I have tried everything to stop my dogs from eating their own feces, and ForBid is the first product that has delivered real results. We followed the instructions and sprinkled it on their food, and within just a few days, the behavior completely stopped. It seems to be tasteless and odorless because my picky eaters didn't even notice it in their bowls. It has made our yard time so much less stressful. If you are struggling with this issue, I highly recommend giving this a try—it works incredibly well!

Doesn't work on all dogs
I went through both boxes of this product in an attempt to get my golden retriever from eating his (and his brother's) poop in the back yard. This product certainly had an effect; my dog went from happily munching on poop to still eating the poop, but now he had a sad, sour, and slightly annoyed face while eating poop. By the end of the second box of powder, my dog had apparently gotten used to the new taste... it didn't slow him down at all. So it didn't work for me. I ended up buying capsaicin spray and spraying all of the piles of poop in the yard to stop him. Even still, when he finds a pile that's fresh, he'll go to town on it. Gross. Good luck to you all!

Doesn't work as well as it advertises.
It helped some. I could tell that my Yorkie slacked off but did not stop entirely.

Having a puppy is hard; this product makes it a little easier
I was beyond disgusted when my cute little guy started displaying interest in his own poo. In a matter of days he went from mild interest to scrambling to eat his poo while I was trying to pick it up. No matter how ready and quick I was, he was more determined. I ordered For-bid because my friend who used to work at a vet clinic suggested it.. Day 1: my pup wasn’t really interested in his morning kibble with this sprinkled in. I was worried he wouldn’t eat at all, but by evening he ate just fine. Obviously there was no difference in his desperation to eat his poo. Days 2 & 3: he still loved eating his poo and I was starting to wonder if the product would work for us. Day 4: he hesitated in eating his poo just long enough for me to pick it up. Day 5 & ever since: he has no interest in his poo at all. The difference was night and day. Even if he goes off leash he happily trots away from it. I haven’t had to use this product at all since day 5 (about a week and a half ago), but the effects are still there. He does not eat or smell or display any interest in his poo. I am so impressed with the effectiveness and because the powder comes in individual packets, I know I can use it in the future if I need to without wondering whether it will still be any good.

Did not work for my dogs.
I have a chiweenie who eats my other dog poop. My vet suggested giving this to my other dog who is a Chihuahua and the chiweenie would stop. Did not stop him at all. I think this behavior is from my chiweenie being a shelter dog. I will just wait and pick up the poop. Poop bags much cheaper.

I have 4 dogs, and the newest pup, ate poo. I would muzzle her with a mesh muzzle when she would go out on her own, so she couldn't eat poo. This, with the "leave it!" command started her understanding that it wasn't acceptable. It wasn't going fast enough for me so I ordered 2 boxes of Forbid, and just finished 5 days of giving it to all of my dogs. I honestly believe she has stopped her from eating poo. One indicadictation is there is no poo in any of the water bowls. I haven't found it clenched in her teeth either! Fun times! 😆 I will do the "pinch" of Forbid for a few more days to be sure. This works.

My dogs didn’t notice the powder in their food . But still not sure if it works , my puppy still picks her poo . I think it helped a little, but has not solved the issue.
