Q: Does this read extended UPCs for items such as books and comic books?

Mine just read several book (ISBN) numbers with no trouble and from a greater distance than I would have expected so I have to say yes it does read book numbers... comics I don't know about.

Q: Is this confirmed to work with Clover POS systems? I have tried with 2 POS's, but neither are receiving input. Scanner seems to work in Excel...

Good question and I'm not really sure. We give these to the theatre's, charities, concert groups etc. who TicketsToTheCity (our online ticketing service). You might check with the manufacturer.

Q: Can you program the scanner to be hands free?

Yes, it can be programmed to be on constantly. You would have to buy a separate stand to go along with it.
