Beautiful wool, lovely colours, this one was named Casper. I posted a project & went to buy another ball & no next day delivery as sold out. Iv ordered other colours with next day delivery as it’s perfect for winter hats & headbands.

This yarn is STUNNING. Nice and chunky, haven't encountered any splitting or snagging and the colours are just... wow. Texture is perhaps a little coarse if you prefer softer garments, but as I'm using this for a poncho for cold weather it feels like it's going to be perfect with plenty of warmth and a nice weight to it! Totally happy with the price I paid and am not too worried about the overall cost of the project based on this... though I don't know how many I'll end up needing to buy so we'll see! I'm crocheting this project and have been using a standard double crochet stitch and 4mm hook, though I'm still a beginner so that information may or may not be helpful!

Nice yarn and easy to knit with.

This yarn is great to work with. I'm a beginner and my knitting project was quick to get through. Made a hat for my grandaughter and one for her dolly. Pretty colours.

Nice yarn, but it's hit and miss with how many knots there'll be in each ball. I got 2 of the same balls of yarn. One had 2 knots and the other had 1. I ended up having to deal with 2 knots in a simple scarf. The colour where it joins wasn't the same as the colour of the yarn it was joining to, either. So there's a jaring colour change where the knots are. You could cut the knots out and join the colours properly. But you'll likely end up wasting a lot of yarn. The method of joining isn't great either, so you'll probably want to cut the knots out and join them in a neater fashion, so that you can hide the join a bit better. Quite annoying, but it's otherwise nice to knit with. I agree with the other reviewers who mentioned that it is a smelly yarn, too. Blocking/cleaning is essential. I used a small amount of scented detergent and even sprayed with a small amount of perfume when drying. Seems to have done the trick.

Lovely yarn to crochet with

I love Hayfield Spirit yarns! The colors are beautiful and vibrant. But beware of the deeper colors. I had to soak the dark green variation for 24 hrs in vinegar and water, changing it every few hours until the excess was out and water was clear. I did this with the finished motifs, before I added the ivory edging to finish. It was much easier to get the excess water out, block and thoroughly dry them. I was pleased that removing the excess dye (not uncommon at all) did not diminish the vibrant shades of the yarn. This is the first time I tried the chunky version of this yarn and it’s really nice. Works up fast and beautiful and that’s saying a lot for me. I’m not a fan of using large (I used “N”) sized hooks. I highly recommend this brand in the DK size as well. Its price is great because it’s a step up from craft store brands. I have only found it in yarn boutiques and priced among some of the other specialty yarns, this one is a huge bargain.
