Accurate, Comfortable, and Essential for Serious Training!
The Garmin HRM-Pro is an outstanding heart rate monitor! I’ve been using it for several weeks now, and I’m truly impressed by its performance. The chest strap is comfortable and lightweight, and I barely notice it during long workouts. The heart rate data is incredibly accurate, providing real-time insights into my training intensity. It syncs easily with my Garmin watch and other devices, and I love that it also tracks running dynamics, like cadence and ground contact time. The battery life is excellent, and the HRM-Pro stores data when I’m out of range, so I never miss a beat.If you're serious about your fitness and need precise heart rate monitoring, this is a must-have. Highly recommend for runners, cyclists, or anyone looking to optimize their training!

Works great, pairs easily
I got this to go along with my Edge 130 bike GPS. It pairs automatically and reliably as soon as I put it on. (works best if the chest strap is on before the GPS is powered-up)When I got a Garmin GPS watch later, it also worked well with it.It uses a single CR2032 lithium coin cell battery, which is easy to change; check YouTube for videos on how. You'll only need to refer to it once. After a few wearings, I just bring it into the shower with me to get the sweat & salt out of the strap covering. It's well sealed against moisture.

Great monitor, disappointing Connect app.
This is a great monitor. Polar H10 was a complete disappointment. This monitor has not issue connecting and working with other app. Garmin Connect app, on the other hand, is disappointing. Garmin should really think about improving its Connect app without requiring a Garmin Watch or another device.

Updated: Died after ~18mo of daily use. Be careful with battery changes.
Update (8/22): Contacted Garmin Support dept and they replaced the HRM-pro for free. Explained what happened and provided proof of purchase (~6mo outside factory warranty period) and they sent a link for a no-charge order for a new unit. Upgraded to 5 stars for the customer service.Original review (~6/22): I'm a garmin fr935 watch user and avid runner. I bought this as a better & more reliable means of tracking HR than the ohr/optical sensor on the forerunner series. The watch based ohr readings would fluctuate based on watch band tightness, wrist location, and weather (skin temperature?).This hrm-pro was much more reliable with the added bonus of the running dynamics metrics. I wore this pretty much daily since Feb '21 for ~1hr/day. The Connect app battery meter for this was a joke and I never saw it go lower than 100% full. I read about the battery change process potentially leading to early failures but thought I was pretty careful in the process. I changed the battery on this ~3-4 times since new but the last time was likely the killer.A small crack developed on the base plastic near one of the screw mounting points that must have caused a leak. Washed it recently, let it dry then no more pairing. Opened it up and noticed condensation in the battery compartment so decided that it was terminal enough to do "major" surgery to investigate. The pictures tell the story:water got in behind the main board and shorted out some components. Maybe if I washed this without the battery in (cover on) and then let it dry out I could have got a few more months out of it? This seems to be a pretty common problem with these series of garmin hrm units (pro, tri, run, etc) so buyer beware.

Best of the Best
This HR Monitor is the best of the best. The strap is comfortable and well made. The HR is accurate and responsive. Best of all - no more charging it after every use. I simply shower with it on and shampoo and soap it up and it stays nice and clean and sanitary. This is a no-brainer. Just buy it - you won’t regret it.

Excellent HRM
This is a high quality HRM chest strap. I’ve used it running, and swimming, but mostly while doing jiujitsu. The strap stays connected and in place through nearly every activity I’ve thrown at it. The battery life is excellent and very easy to change.

Life of a Garmin HR strap is basically the life of the battery
Nearly all of my devices are in the Garmin ecosystem, and I have had a fair number of HR chest straps. It's more accurate than the wrist readings, plus for this one I really like/use the running dynamics. If only it would work reliably after replacing the battery. My most recent HRM-PRO (purchased May 2021) battery lasted just over a year. I've always rinsed and washed it as directed, and I've got all the right tools to change the battery and have done it A LOT. However, in my experience with this style of strap, after you change the battery it never performs like it did. Sometimes it takes significantly longer to connect, sometimes it drops signal frequently, but it's always something. This time, after replacing the battery, it connects lickety split and registers a heart rate - but it's not accurate. As in, using it in Zwift it registered my heart rate for a one hour climbing ride at 45-49 bpm.If you think of this strap as a one year subscription and you'll have to renew/get another one in 12-13 months, it's terrific.

Superb Heart Rate Monitor with Step Counting even when pushing a wherlchair and More!
Strap is comfortable. Pairs easily with phone, Garmin app and Fenix 6 Pro. Heart rate seems solidly accurate. The best thing about this strap is that it is the only way I have found to get reasonably accurate step counting while pushing a wheelchair and I expect it would work for individuals using hiking poles or pushing lawnmowers or similar things where watches don’t work well. It stores the data and synchs automatically with the watch and app which figures out how to merge it with watch data.It also provides full running dynamics data: left-right balance, ground contact, vertical bounce. It will store the data if you don’t have a watch on or your phone with you, so you can swim with it but it doesn’t have a specific “no-slip” swimming strap. I haven’t swum with it though, so I can’t say if that is an issue. This does not have a replaceable strap like the duo, but it has much, much more functionality.
