ExcelSteel579 3 Piece Boiler, Stainless Steel

I looked all over for a double boiler. My really old one was warped on the bottom. I use this for all kinds of baking. I am well known for making peanut butter balls and rum balls, the double boiler makes it so much easier.

They say the proof is in the pudding. Well, this banana pudding I just cooked is all the proof I need that this double boiler is exactly what my kitchen needed. I doubled my recipe for the made-from-scratch pudding and still had plenty of room to stir and cook without spilling over. I love the size. I love the sturdiness. I love how easily it cleaned up. I love the price.

Work well, decent quality so far

Just the right size for wax melting small batches.The metal is on the thin side, but it doesn't feel fragile. It'll heat up faster this way, and for the money you can't expect the stainless to be very thick.The upside of thicker metal would be more heat retention, and more time to work with the melted product before re-warming, but more often I'd prefer the fast heating of the thin metal.Lid fits both top and bottom pot, which also heats up the water faster.
