try it, you'll probably like it !
l'm French but lived in the US for 40 yrs before moving back to France. My still lives in the US but has visited France a ton of times and learned to appreciate its gourmet side. Tomorrow l'm flying to Colorado to spend the holidays with him and wanted to try a new recipe that uses creme de marrons. Since l'm usually overloaded, l cruised Amazon USA to see what French products l could find and l was delighted to find this delicious creme de marrons. Also often used as a dessert... plain, mixed with sour cream or half and half cream to reduce the "sweet taste", or topped with whipped cream in a stemmed glass (it's called "Mont Blanc", yes after the highest mountain in France). You don't necessarily have to dislike chestnuts to not like (or love) creme de marrons !My order has arrived and so have l... "creme de marron" cake for dessert this week-end for the two of us and individual "Monts Blancs" for company newt week.!

DELICIOUS!
In France, they use this in plain yogurt. It is absolutely addictive and I understand why it's such a popular product. I follow an American living in Paris and she posted this product as one of her faves - found it here and ordered it. Not sure what else you could use this for but it's great on plain yogurt.

Not exactly what I was looking for
I'm from Slovakia and I was looking for a chestnut spread to be able to make my favorite dessert; gaštanove piere. It's the same chestnut paste that is used to make mont blancs and other French deserts. I was so excited to find this product, however it is not the same paste used in these deserts, at least not on its own...and I have no idea how to get it to that creamy, mild, light-colored paste. So I guess it's back to the drawing board for me in terms of figuring out to make my fav dessert. It's frustrating because this is one of the only chestnut spreads readily available for purchase in the US.This paste is dark and sweet, almost like molasses and is not creamy at all, actually slightly translucent. If you look up pictures of a mont blanc you will see it looks nothing like this product. It tastes somewhat like the familiar chestnut paste im used to but it's not it. If you're looking to make mont blancs, I do not beleive this is the correct product.

Pretty good
I wanted to make a mont blanc cake for Christmas and needed chestnut puree and this was the cheapest. I've never had chestnuts before but was surprised with how good and surprisingly mild this was. Was perfect for my cake. And would be good on it's own or on some toast
