The extra resolution on the IR image is worth the price. It makes some clicking noises while in use which could be a problem if you were in an ultra-quiet environment. If you are only in IR mode, this goes away. The 320x240 resolution largely eliminated the need for the combined picture mode since its' much easier to tell what is in the photo.This camera uses the image data to detect the center, highest and lowest temperatures in the image. Really handy compared to a single point IR thermometer. It's decently large so don't expect to put it in your pocket. The biggest downside would be the startup time. Takes a good minute to turn on so you aren't going to be getting speed measurements unless you planned ahead. The batter lasts a long time so probably best to turn off "sleep" in the settings and manually turn off the device when you're finished.

It's a nice thermal camera for the money. But why would you design a $900 device and not allow someone to replace the Lithium battery? Yes, it's a rechargeable battery, but we all know that these batteries have a finite lifespan, and after a couple years the battery doesn't hold a charge like it used to. So the designers want you to throw away an expensive device because the battery wore out? Now of course people are going to tear the device apart anyways and replace the battery when the time comes, but these knuckleheads didn't make the chassis with any screws. It's either glued together or snap-fit or plastic-welded. I mean you have to be a real idiot to think this design is in the owner's best interest.

The IR images have good resolution. It is easy to toggle between natural light images, hybrid images and full IR images. Photos are taken by pulling the trigger and then clicking to save. The alignment feature on the camera allows the visible light image and the IR image to be adjusted to produce an overlapping image. Several color palette selections are available including a black and white and a white on black. For purposes of inspection it is helpful to take a visual light image first followed by the IR image.The camera does not have an adjustable focus but I have not found it to be a problem during a home inspection with up close and distant image photos.The emissivity of the unit can be changed to provide better accuracy for temperate reading. The User manual contains a helpful chart with materials and various emissivity ratings.The navigation and control on the instrument is straight forward. The directions in the manual are clear.The WIFI IR feature works. It requires your computer or cell phone to select the Camera WIFI as the source and to log out of the other WIFI networks. Single image file transfer can also occur over the WIFI. Batch images can be transferred with the included micro USB charger.My first unit did not allow micro USB file transfer. The company customer service was excellent and they shipped me a replacement unit which performed as advertised.Overall I am very pleased with the product and the customer service. This instrument compares favorably to both the Fluke and FLIR cameras that I have worked with. The price is very reasonable for the image quality and features.

This exceeded my expectations. Works extremely well. Compared to a friends far more expensive unit this was better in every way.

Device seems well built. Initial use of the device and resolution of the screen is very good. Resolution of screen image is significantly better than my Flir MR176 device that was almost double the cost of this device. Only thing I wish that came with this unit was a holster case to wear on your belt during an inspection, like I have seen with other brands of a similar competitor's device.
