I placed this order before reading the reviews after reading the reviews It scared me. I almost canceled the order because of so many people saying that it was too complicated or too difficult and they were having problems, but then other reviews loved it so I decided to go ahead and wait till it comes in to try for myself and I am glad I did. I don’t know what the other complaints are about. It works phenomenal. The app is phenomenal. There might be a quirk or two about it I would do different but besides that it is awesome. Yes, you have to actually read the instructions , it took me 20 minutes to set up everything Wi-Fi and the device but you have to actually read. You have to use your brain, but it is well worth it.

Device worked great until I stopped using it for a while. When I wanted to start using it again it wouldn't connect to WiFi. Here's how I finally reconnected it.1. This may be unnecessary but I factory reset the device by holding all three buttons down. This doesn't work if you're in set mode. You'll have to reset all parameters if you do this.2. Make sure you're connected to 2.4ghz WiFi on you're phone. No 5ghz.3. Make sure the elitech icold app is installed and UPDATED.4. TURN OFF VPN! This and the previous step were the two things tripping me up.5. Delete old device from app. This may be unnecessary, but it's what I did.6. Either power off and on device or reset WiFi by holding Set and down arrow until WiFi symbol starts blinking. Wait until symbol stops blinking before continuing!7. Add new device in app with + button. Scan QR code on back of device.8. Follow the prompts to set up WiFi. When it says to enter configure mode, just make sure you're within 30 minutes of powering the device on or resetting WiFi with set and down button. DON'T try to configure WiFi while the symbol is still blinking! That is not configure mode. That is indicating WiFi is being reset.After following the prompts it finally reconnected to WiFi. It said "WiFi configured" and then took a minute to show that it was online on the app.Hopefully these instructions are clear enough and help someone having trouble like I was.

Update 12oct2022Garbage.Lost 2 hatches because this piece of crap goes into a reboot loop every since their update. You can't stop it, you can't reset it. I had to watch a eggs stopped moving. F them. Support didn't even get back to me.‐-------------------------------------This thing was extremely easy to set up and use. After perusing the instructions for a few minutes I was up and running in less than 3 minutes. I was skeptical because of all the people that were "tech heads" having a hard time setting up. That's the difference between a real person who is technically adept, and people who only think they are.I am using this for an egg incubator that I built out of a broken mini fridge. I have a light socket with a 60 watt bulb for heat, and a mini USB powered diffuser for humidity. I taped the button down on the diffuser so it turns on when it recieves power.If I don't update this within the next 22 days it worked perfectly. I would recommend 10/10

This device is amazing, especially for the price. The app works great and this thing is just awesome.It has one problem though & why I docked 1 star, there are limited ALERT ranges for humidity/temp. In other words, if they exceed these ranges this thing starts beeping really loud. There is no way to disable this on the device or the app, just like a lot of people said on here.I found a solution though! If you open it up and remove the beeper it will still function but not beep anymore. Follow the instructions below using my pictures as a guide:WARNING, YOU WILL GET SHOCKED (maybe even die) IF THIS THING IS PLUGGED IN WHEN YOU TOUCH THE PCB. MAKE SURE IT’S UNPLUGGED AND DO NOT TOUCH THE CAPACITORS! YOU’RE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.Steps:1) Unscrew the only screw on the back of the unit above the cables entering the device.2) Gently begin prying the device apart from the top (opposite side of cables). I did this by hand but you can do it with a piece of plastic.3) Once the PCB is exposed you will see a little black cylinder with a hole up top (look at my pic pointing to it for reference).4) Once located, grab some pliers and slowly wiggle it back and forth. Do not force it or wiggle too much. I’ll repeat this again, BE GENTLE OR YOU WILL DESTROY THE PCB!5) After some wiggling, it will come out on its own. It’s actually built to detach from the PCB with 2 prongs (look at picture for reference).Done! You should never hear this thing beep again.p.s. when the manufacturer puts an option on the device or app to disable beeping I’ll give it 5 stars.

I purchased this item, and unfortunately the device isn't working properly. I tried contacting the seller first through Amazon, and then through Elitech directly. It took more than one attempt to get assistance with the device, and once I did get assistance, it took more than two weeks of troubleshooting to finally decide the device was indeed defective. Elitech was willing to send a replacement, but I would have to make arrangements through Amazon. Of course, I'm outside of the Amazon return window, so I'm left with a fancy light up paperweight that I paid $85 for. This purchase was little more than a waste of my time.
