Helen of Troy Curling Irons Are The Best!
I've been a Helen of Troy curling iron user for a number of years. The only beauty supply store I found that carried them, recently sold to new owners, and they no longer offer this brand. I've hesitated when it comes to searching for items on the Internet because I'm not that computer proficient. However, in my desperation, I've allowed my fingers to do the walking, and I'm quickly gathering testimonials on my personal searches and purchases with Amazon.Regarding my experience with this brand, I have very cotton-candy, fine, hair and as I age, it's not as thick as it used to be; consequently, fine, AND thinning, even though I wear a shorter, brush-up, style. Helen of Troy curling irons are the only brand I've found that provides the fullness I need without crimping, burning, bending the ends. The iron is so hot, and curls so well, I sometimes can get multiple days from one use. The only problem is my own clumsiness; I keep dropping them, more times than not, and that quickly shorts out the heating element depending on the type of surface it hits. It's not unusual for me to buy two replacements a year; generally, I buy in pairs because I don't want to be without a 3/4". I have one in every size from 1" down.I'm a die-hard fan of this brand and I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. Please continue to offer your varied products so we retirees still have some buying options and flexibility; especially when it's a product that has been regularly used for years. I found ordering them on line can be quite a cost savings as well.Thank you, AmazonPatti Carter

This product was not what I expected
I do not like that this product does not blow out air. My old Helen of Troy did blow out air & I was trying to replace it. This product will work but I was disappointed.

Good simple 5/8" curling iron
It's hard to find a good 5/8" curling iron - it must not be a popular size. Some on the market have the thumb release so high from the barrel it's difficult to use. The Helen of Troy is simple but effective. Easy on the hands and has 2 heat settings - I only use the high setting. I've tried other curling irons with temperature settings and they just burn my hair - no need for all the pizazz. Just need a simple curling iron that works well and this one does the job. The cord does curl up on you but for the price not a big problem. It gets hot quickly and does a good job.

Better than my flatiron!
I have a graduated bob and bleached (level 12) hair. This means varied lengths, from about 4" to 10", and damaged hair that must be treated very tenderly. Because I favor a smooth underswept style, I was using my flatiron to achieve that look, but first I had to blowdry my hair or my natural wave would still turn through the ironing. A double process is a pain, and the blowdrying takes away the sheen from my hair, making it look lifeless. The brush iron is easy to hold and does not diminish the hair's sheen. I strongly recommend sectioning your hair, doing a little at a time. Don't try to take a large section and roll it...unless you are very precise, it will be easy to cross-roll as you get it out of your hair, creating a nightmare tangle.I take a section and hold the end of the hair so the section goes straight up. Then I put the iron under the hair...the stiff bristles keep the iron awaay from my scalp, so no danger of burning myself (unlike my flatiron). I pull the section of hair down over the iron and keep it like that for about 10 seconds (on 'high', and my hair is fine) then I continuously roll the brush through the hair as I bring it down to the end. I keep rolling it as I let the end curl around and roll it up like a regular curling iron.Because there is no upper grip, there is no danger of getting an indention in the hair. Just beware of cross-rolling the hair. Also, keep your fingers offf the barrel. Easy to say, but I did burn a fingertip. Now I let the cool plastic end of the roller rest in my left palm for guidance, and keep my fingers well awaay.I'll post an update if I have more observations.

Heat
Not good for long curly hair. I didn’t read enough info on it. It’s for short hair.

Great hard to find iron.
These brush's which have the teeth and heat up like a traditional iron are getting harder to find. Most blow hot air instead of a heating up. This one works great.
