Briggs and Stratton 725EXi Series Single Cylinder Air-Cooled 4-Cycle Gas Engine

This is a great little motor. Bought to replace a Briggs & Stratton that was on a Toro self propelled mower. Bolt pattern and brake cable were perfect match. Quick delivery and top notch folks to deal with. Added oil and gas and started on first pull of the pull rope. Highly recommend this seller and this motor. Just be sure to check your measurements on the motor your replacing such as the length of the pulley shaft and the diameter of the shaft. Bolt pattern, location of brake cable and position of fuel tank etc. the engine I replaced was 140cc and this one is 160cc. But everything lined up and works great.

First off does not work as a replacement log splitter motor. No on/off....No throttle control. BEWARE !!!! The kick back on this motor when trying to start has all but broke a thumb and my ribs. Not sure what this motor is intended for but definitely not a log splitter. Maybe that was my error but if that's your intention, look elsewhere.

This series of Briggs engines are super-reliable and easy to work on. Unfortunately this model will not replace a Toro brand mower engine due the the crankshaft keying on the mower being proprietary to that brand (specially made by Briggs for Toro and not available except as a service part). The engine shipped direct from the seller and was delivered promptly. I found the seller a pleasure to work with and I would buy from this company again without hesitation. A+++

Okay I bought a 7.25 item received at first it would not start would not get fired but located under the gas tank and under the handle you will find a little lever you have to remove the spring pull the lever to the left and it will start I'm using this on a 22-ton log splitter and it is working perfectly now

Plug and play, runs great

After a month of trying to get this motor to work on a log splitter. Which was what I specified that I needed log splitter motor. I had to make some modifications to the shop for it to be able to fit down into my log splitter. I have tried to start it and it says ready start. That's a bunch of BS it is not ready to start cuz the freaking coil ain't no good. No spark, no return now what do I do with my $250 I'm out? Also the book that they send you is the stupidest book that I have ever seen in my life as far as an owner's manual. Where are the words that explain what the picture side because the pictures don't explain it to me. There's ex's and circles with lines in it so stop don't put gas in stop don't put oil in do put oil in do put gas in what the heck is a person supposed to do. I expected Briggs & Stratton to warranty my motor and send me a new coil because I have no spark on a brand new motor. And it is not ready to start as it says it i

It is wonderful. After I installed it, filled it with oil and gas, it started up on the very first pull and has been doing so ever since.

This is a great engine. Make certain of the shaft size before purchasing.
