Sing a New Song: A Woman's Guide to the Psalms

I facilitate Ladie’s Biblestudy groups and this author’s study guides are scripturally accurate and inspiring. The women enjoy using them along with a Bible.

We love to do summer Psalms and this has been such a great tool to read along with. I recommend to everyone!

This is one of my all time favorite studies- for myself, and to give as a gift! I love the focus on the Psalms and The way the author dives into scriptures and helps give such an in-depth view. So much less of a generic devotional with someone else’s thoughts and more of a Bible study aimed at helping you get into scripture and study it yourself!

This book is amazing and an excellent accompaniment when reading the Psalms for further understanding! Lydia Brownback has readily become one of my favorite authors, as I have purchased several of her books on my Kindle app. This book, however I wanted a hard copy of.Thank you,Debby Blue

This is a pretty simple book, especially at first glance, but it's such a great study tool to have alongside reading the Psalms. It doesn't go super deep, but it has been nice for learning a bit more about each of the Psalms.Each Psalm gets 2 pages in this book. The actual Psalm isn't included. You'll need your Bible with this book. While part of me would have loved to have had the Psalms right in this book, it is already a decent sized book, at 352 pages. It would have either had to have tiny print, or be turned into a huge book to get it all in here. Ultimately, I mostly prefer my Bible readings to be from a physical Bible anyway.With each Psalm, you'll get a "Theme"(one sentence summary), "Harmony"(something about the Psalm, somewhat of a mini history lesson for many of them), "Singing in Tune"(somewhat of a commentary), "Musical Notes"(a focus on God's Grace and God's Attributes), and "Sing the Song"(extra Bible reading, along with a question/assignment).If you already have a great deal of background knowledge when it comes to the Psalms, you might want a book that digs a little deeper. If you want some general, simple information about each of the Psalms, this is the perfect place to start. It is written in a very down to earth manner.

This is a beautifully done book that give a synopsis of each chapter in psalms without being an overwhelming amount of information.

What a great book! It has everything that I look for in a devotional -- 1) it is clear and concise 2) it is interesting, and 3) it requires actual reading of Scripture passages. Brownback provides both historical insight to the book of Psalms as well as practical interpretations and advice. I highly recommend Sing a New Song if you are looking for a way to get deeper in the Word.
