There are 2 physical dimensions to consider, diameter and height. Easiest is to remove an unbroken disc from another connection, measure both diameter and height in millimeters and replace it in the location of the broken one to ensure that it fits. Sometimes furniture can have several different sizes used on the same piece. Unfortunately, the size and shape of the head of the pins is not standard, so even matching the outside dimensions leaves a possibility for not fitting.

Q: Would this work on an Ikea Kullen chest of drawers?

Many brands of furniture use multiple sizes of cams and dowels in different sections of the furniture. If you are looking for replacements for the actual smaller connections inside the drawers, this is probably going to work. Parts of your furniture such as the main frame, top and side connecting panels often use a larger 15mm diameter cam instead of these 12mm.

Q: where can you buy the caps to cover these?

There is one hardware store near me that has a very large collection of nut, bolt drawers. They had the type of caps I think you are talking about. they did not have all colors though, to match wood/formica finish. You would certainly need to take the hole Dia. measure with you. I can't tell you if the cam lock measure would be of any help. I did not buy or use what I saw there. Good luck.
