Q: I just got my gown this am. Fits now but will it shrink? Also see where it says hand wash and hang to dry. No washer or dryer use?

No shrinkage after washing in cold water and drying on medium heat. I take it out just a tad before completely dry. I love this gown, it’s very soft, all cotton (we live in the tropics) and very well made. I’m going to order another. The first one (2X) was a bit too big (I thought it would shrink). It didn’t so I’ll order an XL.

Q: This nightgown has a tag inside that says keep away from fire and flame. Does this mean it's not non flamable? I thought this was a law.

ANY 100% cotton clothing is NOT fire resistant nor fire proof. Polyester clothing does not IGNITE easily (it smolders) but 100% cotton will ignite and catches fire and will burn. As far as I know, my gown (100% cotton) has no fire retardant chemical in it. If you are worried about a smoker using this gown, maybe get a polyester nightie instead.

Q: Does this fabric have an unpleasant smell?

No it does not have a smell. Even after I wash it, it smells good. My mom loves them so I ordered her this second one. She says it is very comfortable.

Q: Does the buttons go all the way down the front, for opening in the front?

There are 5 buttons that go down the bodice about 9 inches. I haven't used the buttons to open up the bodice because it fits easily over my head. (They do not go down the entire length of the gown.) BTW, this is a fabulous gown!
