Great classic books
Love these anniversary editions of these classic books, great original illustrations, good fonts not to small. Very affordable. Lost World was spectacular, also bought some Jules Verne. A+++

Classic
If Chrichton read this, I can see the inspiration. A fun read, I recommend it. The illustrations were good, and help to visualize the world and story.

A great read...A fun edition!
I first read this book as a teenager. Have had several copies since and have re-read it many times. It's a first rate adventure story that has actual history which inspired Arthur Conan Doyle...explorations in that same area of the Amazon Jungle by Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett. See David Grann's fascinating book The Lost City of Z.It's also a really neat edition that is a re-print of the original with the original artwork pictures. And its cover matches the Criterion Collection DVD of the 1925 movie! I found that DVD on Amazon and love it! The book is better than any of the films, but having these two together is very special.

Good book overall
I enjoyed this book overall. Some of the language is dated and disagreeable, but a fun adventure to read! My primary complaint about this specific edition is that some of the pictures are incorrectly placed several paragraphs and/or pages ahead of where the events occur in the text. This caused a few events to be spoiled since I was seeing the events prior to reading about them.

One of Conan Doyle's Best Books
I have read all of Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories and had seen movie versions of The Lost world but had never read the book. I found it to be absorbing. This edition, with the original illustrations had an atmospheric feel to it and I recommend it to anyone interested in the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Fascinating story -- hard to put it down
I bought this book with the original intention of reading it to my 9-year old grandson. Unfortunately, the reading comprehension level of the story is substantially above that of a 4th grade student. So, rather than read the story to my grandson who was struggling with many of the words and the sentence structure typical of Conan Doyle's time, I read it for myself and was happy I did. It's a great story and easy to see why it has been captivating readers for over 100 years. Conan Doyle was a wonderful writer, of course, and this book will not disappoint! I told my grandson that he could read the book himself in a few years when his reading capabilities were more advanced.

Good Read!
Excellent read, great story and character development. Original illustrations are interesting and do add to the story. As I am older, I appreciate the font used in this book.

Beuatiful work.
As a dyed-in-the-wool, unapologetic Conan Doyle fanboy, this was a must-have version of my second favourite story of all time, (the first being "The Sign of Four!). I had not seen an illustrated edition before, and the pictures are as wonderful as you might imagine them to be.

Impressed!
Comes as a large format softback book, very good for fans of Arthur Conan Doyle or Lost World fans.

Poor Print Quality
Great book, bizarrely massive format, but with very low resolution reproduction of the pictures, which was the whole point of this edition. Even the text resolution is a bit low.
