DOMS are better
Doms pastels are smoother nd easier to blend.. So i'll recommend doms only.. Not camel.. I too regret buying this brand..as it doesn't gives the realistic effect.. Nd moreover higher mrp than doms

SUPERB OIL PASTELS FOR YOUR KIDS WHO LOVE TO COLOUR. WATCH OUT FOR DEALS THOUGH.
I buy quite a few of these every other month, thanks to some one who loves to colour, draw and finish a stock of A4 sheets every month. If you are buying this for your kid, here's some stuff I hope will help you.1. This series of pastels of 50 shades is available without a plastic box as well, which is cheaper. The box in itself is not very sturdy, so it will break if you drop it hard enough.2. If you want lesser shades look at the 25 shades box, which is cheaper by 50%.3. For even smaller kids, there is a jumbo series, which has bigger and thicker oil pastels, which makes it easier for them to hold.4. Oil pastels unlike wax crayons cannot be rubbed out with an eraser, so keep that in mind if you are buying for kid who is starting out. Also, oil pastels are hard to get off from the walls unlike wax crayons.5. You would often find these on deal prices, which are between 30-50% discounted from MRP. So, keep a look out for those deals.6. It comes with a scratch tool, which is fun to use.Faber Castell also has a similar pack of 50 shades, which is also a good option to buy and consider. Having used both Camel and Faber, I find both to be equally good; Faber seems to be slightly more resistant to breakage.Hope that helps.

Not recommended. Even for beginners.
I was expecting a lot from these after reading the reviews here. Bt I'm disappointed. Being a new to oil pastels i was wanting easily blendable quality bt they seem more like dry pastels.. I've seen excellent drawings here in reviews bt for me it was difficult to blend them unless i apply all my energy to blend these.. They're really very dry.. I won't recommend even for beginners.. Secondly, the white doesn't highlight at all.. It seems more like a colorless blender without any pigment of it's own.. N third, the residue (n there's a lot of it really) irritates a lot as it obstructs the process of applying color..i hv to remove it simultaneously with the help of a brush using my other hand.. Layering also seems to be a problem with these.. Now I'm looking for a better option thinking what to do with these.. Are they really going to help me as a budding artist when even the most basic attribute of oil pastels is missing in them.. I don't know what's the point of even manufacturing these pastels..

One of the best oil pastels I have ever used...
Have been using Camel Oil Pastels for as long as I can remember...They are absolutely worth every penny you pay. Blends well, have wonderful shades and comes easy on your pocket too. Bought this for my son and he enjoys using every minute of it!

Very good crayons
These are really good crayons for beginners, not too big not too small and it has a variety of colours which I love. I used these for my GCSE art work and for the price they are quite good. would recommend to anyone.

Dont blend well
Bought these for my art studio, for the kids to use. These pastels dont blend well or have that oily quality that you look for in oil pastels.
