Q: How can you set this door up with no wifi. is it possible? i plan on getting an extender but right now signal is too weak

The controller can keep the timer setting if there is a power failure. It can works according the timer setting without network. You can also use Wi-Fi hotspot from another cellphone or take it close to your router to pair the door. After you finish setting, it will work according the setting.

Q: The description says it works down to 14 degrees F, what happens when it colder? What if it is 10 or even 15 below 0? Will the door be stuck closed?

That's funny I didn't notice when I ordered or I ignored it. I have an electronics background and I see no reason for this. It could simply be that they did limited testing and didn't test colder. Some companies document only what they test. The solid state electronics wouldn't be impacted. The solenoid actuator is qiute powerful I don't think it would be impacted either, little more than a screw gear driven rod actuator, but I haven't taken the thing apart that's typically how they're constructed. It actually has a lot of force I think it pushes and pulls with 25 lb or something like that if I remember correctly I'm happy about the safety improvements with the door sensor that works well. I'm in Colorado. I bought mine over a year ago. We had multiple bouts of extreme cold fall 2020, winter 2021, multiple spells well below 0, it worked every day. I seriously doubt this would be an issue even in colder climates.

Q: Is the door actuator also rain/weatherproof? In other words, can it be mounted outside, exposed to the elements?

The mechanism will freeze so if you live somewhere that gets multiple days or weeks of below freezing temperatures you can’t mount it outside.

Q: Could this be mounted horizontally? I need that set up instead of vertically.

It can be installed horizontally, but be careful not to get wet.
