Star Trek 10-Movie Stardate Collection (Blu-ray + Digital)

What can I say? It’s Star Trek almost all of the Star Trek’s. The only thing I need now is a Blu-ray quality of the original series and I’ll be done.

I had the opportunity to catch this collection on a big sale event and was excited to see a Star Trek Movie Collection like this since I liked getting all the movies in one package. There are all the movies that go with the Original Star Trek characters, crossover with The Next Generation and then The Next Generation movies and a later one. The visual and sound quality and the casing are good.For those new to Star Trek, they are probably more light-weight on the science and thrills, but good military space adventure, camaraderie of the cast, engaging leads, and exciting well-paced action plots for the most part. There are changes in style as directors and writers changed across the series, but the core spirit of the series remains in tact. As with any collection, I liked some storylines better than others. A few were a little under-developed, but others were excellent.Though this isn't a directors edition with lots of cool extras, it is perfect for someone who just wants all the movies in one place.

I was answering a question from another reviewer and decided to post a review as I have just received the new release of the Star Trek 10 movie blu ray and digital collection. Thought I had done my research, maybe not enough. Running times for The Wrath of Khan is listed as 112 min. Star Trek, The Motion Picture is listed as 131 min, per the movie descriptions on the packaging and on the actual discs. Neither lists another cut of the film under special features. I will check out the movies and if there are more options there I will update this info. My understanding reading reviews is this release was just a re-issue of the older set and the only differences were the lack of bonus discs and the included digital copies. The packaging of the blu ray disc is reported to be improved. The blu ray discs in the new set I received are packed well and secure, yet easy to remove. Received the digital codes, yes codes, 10 of them. One for each movie. I thought they would send one code for the 10 movie bundle, as it is being sold that way online, but received 10 codes. I have not bought these movies before. I had a few on VHS and a couple on Laserdisc, but did not buy the dvds, held out for blu ray. Of course, 4K is likely for all of these, but the digital copies are a nice bonus. Online the 10 movie digital copy bundle is selling $69.99 and I paid half of that, tax included, here at Amazon, to get the blu ray discs and digital copies. That is only $3.50 per movie. Cheers!

Haven't sat down to re-watch any of these yet but immediate concern I had when checking the digital copy slips was the note saying the codes "may not be valid after 10/16/2022". DEFINITELY not something I like to see after opening a factory sealed product bought straight from Amazon.However, all 10 digital copy codes worked fine for me. How much longer though, I don't know. So if you are thinking of buying this better do it soon!Other things about the digital codes:a. There are two slips of paper, double-sided, for a total of 10 codes.b. Each movie has its own code, it's not a single code for a set of 10.c. When redeeming, I could only choose Apple+ or Vudu/Fandango as a provider. So you won't be able to associate these with Youtube, Amazon, MoviesAnywhere, etc.Other than THAT;I've seen all the Star Trek movies and generally like them as a whole, some are better than others (ST III is definitely a disappointment for me). As a franchise the movies are beloved in a way that fandom understands. I'll be happy to watch these at my leisure knowing I have the option to stream or pop a disc into my player, :)

Decided to write a review for this as I couldn't find the information I was looking for in other reviews.This is a 10 disk collection, Each movie and it's special features have their own disk as if you had bought them individually. There is no quality loss from them trying to squeeze two movies on a disk. Which was my concern.If you are a fan of TOS and TNG, this box is a one stop shop for all the movies without making any compromises.
