Q: Charging time I just bought the aa batteries and the ebl charger it took over 12 hours to charge them the first time and the same again the second tim

Yes, if you have the same 10 cell ebl charger like me, then you have found out that the ebl charger is slow. This is not really a bad thing as it reduces the stress on the batteries, they last longer and will take nearer to a full charge unless you are in a hurry in which case its a pain! I have measured the charge rate on mine, its 250mA. So if you divide the battery capacity (assuming that it Is totally discharged) of 2800mA/hr by the charge rate 250 you get 11.2 hours, to which you can add an allowance of say +10% as charging is not a completely efficient process = 12.3 hours to charge. This is a very rough calculation and it assumes that the charge rate is constant throughout the 12 hours, but it mirrors my experience.

I dont think that would matter if you’re asking about the discharge power. The ‘mah’ refers to what the battery can hold power. But this would mean you’re able to use it for longer.

I've never seen any information on the max charge rate for these batteries, but I bought and use an EBL charger which can recharge 8 AA batteries (or 4 D, or C cells) simultaneously and it is considerably faster than my old "Eveready" and Sony 4xAA chargers and the 4xAA charger on my Hahnel ProCube 2, even though it is charging twice as many batteries. I switched to using these batteries in my camera flashes and LED Lenser torches as they've been the most reliable and longest lasting batteries I've found.
