Exceptional quality and sharpness
Exceptional quality and extremely sharp. These are for serious cooks who take care of their utensils. Enjoy cooking and get ready to appreciate Japanese knives. Just be extremely careful and do not let kids or teenagers use these. Razor sharp . Hope this helps. Also, they look amazing !!!!! Well worth the price.Don’t forget that this knife can chip if you are not careful. It has a very thin blade so it makes sense if you drop it or try and shop frozen items.

What can I say?
Wow this knife is a lot different then the old Cutco chef's knife I have been using for years. After getting a gift card for my Bday I decided to take the plunge on a real knife. I consider myself a pretty good cook and enjoy making meals for family and friends. I figured if I am using it everyday it would be well worth every penny and it has been for sure. The blade is well balanced and the steel is hard as hell so it retains an edge like no other stainless blade can. When it hits the cutting board the sound of it even sounds different then typical stainless steel. I really look forward to meals that require a lot of vegetable prep. Trimming cuts of meat is super easy- the blade slides right through with no resistance. It even looks cool laying on the cutting board! Just be careful- I almost took off the tip of my index finger the first night I used it. You have to adapt your holding technique if you are used to using semi dull knives. Perfect size and blade length for most work you will do in the kitchen on a daily basis.A pure pleasure in the kitchen for sure, maybe even an heirloom for the kids... Even bought a whetstone to keep it sharp. Just make sure to practice on your old knives before using on your new beauty. Expensive but worth it!

Well balanced and scary sharp!
I received a nakiri of the same brand and was very impressed with the workmanship and sharpness of it. This knife is the same quality and holds a razor sharp edge very well. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny for a knife of this caliber.

Fantastic knife!
This was my first foray into more expensive knives and this was worth the $$. It cuts through everything with ease, is gorgeous, and holds an edge remarkably well.

Great knife! Very sharp, be careful cleaning it. It cut the sponge I was using. Live the weight of it too.

Best Knife We've Ever Owned
I don't ussually bother writing reviews, but I stopped what I was doing to write one for this knife. I use it for everything it seems. I sharpen it each time I use it with 3 or 4 quick swipes...and it cuts through everything. I just cut the spine out of a chicken to spatchcock it...and cut open an acorn squash. But it also makes mincing an onion pleasurable....cutting carrots a breeze. I've had it for seven months and made cooking so much more pleasurable. My husband and I are big fans. I would definitely recommend.
