I would say something is probably wrong with the battery. I’ve never had the whole charging process take more than 10-12 hours.

Q: Can you charge a 6 volt lawn mower battery?

The instructions state that this is for 12v batteries only, also the output is 12v, so I do not believe it would be a good idea.

It will provide a continuous trickle charge. It depends on how fast your battery is draining as to whether or not it will keep up.
